Ok, so lets say that by a slim chance, a nuke DOES go off in NYC or DC or any city in the United States. What then?
Would we nuke every country on our "hit list"?
Would we turn the middle east into a radioactive crater?
Would America descend into anarchy...looting...rioting...mass hysteria...would there be any tv ...any news if NYC was hit?
Would there be martial law?
Would we finally build a wall on the northern and southern borders of the US?
In my opinion, if any country gets hit first it will be Russia. They have Muslim terrorists fighting a war in their OWN country, and they have their own soldiers and scientists selling their own weapons in their back yard. Now when Moscow gets evaportaed, THEN the world will really freak out.
Do you suppose there is a 10 mile high wall that stretches fom the Phillipines to Siberia? What goes around, comes around, literally.
Depending on the yield of the weapon detonated in NYC or DC, the fallout may not all land in Europe, Russia, etc...
The West Coast does have something to worry about.
But, until the Mexican border is sealed, the next hit is inevitable. And, I wouldn't be surprised to find the Chinese behind the whole thing. Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, the Becca Valley, Tehran, Baghdad, and selected targets in Syria, Lybia, Indonesia and Saudi would all be nuked with bacon wrapped tacs.We must also round up all illegal aliens and especially those from countries on the "harbors" list. Bush and Ridge have turned national security into lots of government jobs but until the illegals are rounded up and the borders sealed, nothing real has been done.
Too....too funny!

Most of the fallout will be in the Atlantic or Europe.
In emergency, you aint gonna get out of NYC. That is why I left years ago.
The Murican people are so incurably stupid they would still donate to Red Cross and United Way.
If Springer and the WWF survive - yes...
Also, dont forget banks. Im sure as hell taking my money out as soon as something like that happens. Ill need the money to buy food, water, guns, etc...Call that dumb, but I wont be the only one.
Also, how will the american public react. Will there be massive race rioting in the streets like there are in India right now? Think about it...
Yep. Definitely gotta get my eyes checked when I go in for them new glasses. =;^)
Two words...
Toilet paper.
Non-perishable, and imagine the barter potential.
As to nukes in a major city, I've been consistent over the years-move out of the major metro areas. Because if it's not a nuke you still got bios, or loss of infrastructure, or a riot or even just a normal little mugging or murder or rape that won't even make the newspaper.
Effects on the US? We have too many eggs in too few baskets economically. NYC poofing or chicago would seriously disrupt the economy, even if it only represents 1% of the population. Washington would make the government go completely bonkers apesquat and probably initiate world war three nuke exchange on reflex. No one can really predict what would happen in general-not really, but you can for sure predict what will happen to your family if you are outside the immediate blast or infection zone, and that is chances are pretty good "you'll cruise" a lot better than most folks if you take a lot of serious and sensible precautions NOW, and maintain them, and get a little training and adopt a survival mindset. Ignore it, and if something totally strange and big happens, you could very well be heading over to the fema soup and injections line someplace, ya never know.
You can't ask the people in the wtc who are gone now, but I'd bet a nickle if you had said to them a week previous to 9-11 what I just said they would have laughed and said it was tinfoil hat stuff.
Ya see the same thing with hurricanes, ever notice they always show these people with the hurricane like a few hours away cutting up plywood to make window coverings or stuck in evac traffic jams? They only live on the ocean, ho hum, no need to make pre made window coverings or to beat the rush out, ho hum. Checking out the empty aisles at the sooper market for food because they realise they got like two days worth of captain crunch and half a pizza hanging around. Ho hum.
Same deal more or less. Some prepare and adjust their living accordingly to changing world conditions and realities, some ignore it. Oh well. Nuthin's perfect, but "doing nuthin" for yourself and family who are depending on you is a lot less than perfect, too.
