Your concerns are about religion, not race. Jews come to Israel from (almost) every nation under heaven.
Why not explain why you personally hate Israel with every fiber of your being ?
Yes, you do. It is evident in all your comments. Why not just get it all out in the open and off your chest ?
I still don't understand why you care about the religious aspect of it so much since your language indicates your don't really practice the spiritual side of it.
Where did you learn to hate the Jews so much ?
I suppose you are adopting the advice Nixon gave Graham. "Don't let them know." It doesn't quite work once you've already given yourself away.
There is one place I wish Jews did control. It's called Israel. After that last suicide bombing, I'm about ready to go enlist in the IDF myself. I have close friends in Tel Aviv and I am sick to death of these damn Palis...time to "Let's Roll" over there. They need BiBi and badly.
Ok, now I've been critical of some Jews and sympathetic to others. Am I anti-semitic or more correctly anit-Jewish?
Not in my opinion.
" ... Would the Lutherans control the steel business?"
In the mind of the leftists, yes; but they wouldn't trouble themselves with such distinctions, and would instead merely decry the "religious right" ... lumping all Christians into the same "vast conspiracy."
But setting that aside, another answer is that many people could make that particular "Pittsburgh" steel mill out to be "Lutheran."
However, your question did not include the occurence in the population of steel plants' managements, nor in the workforces --- together, "the participants" --- of Lutherans ... which occurence you also did not pose in contrast to society, as being very disproportionate. So, in answer to your supposition: No.
Horse dung. Do you believe all that you read, especially the first time, in a press that is, by even their own admission, anti-religion anyway? Neither one of you have listened to the tape in the context of the time, place, setting or in its entirety.
OTOH, you have the public words and actions of the man for 40 or 50 years ongoing. You cannot point to a single instance of anti-Semitic behavior or rhetoric. Yet you find this one instance as an incredible window into a man's attitude about an entire race of people. That isn't only illogical, it is idiocy.
When you have a pattern of behavior (see: Bill Clinton), one might make an argument. You don't have that with Reverend Graham. You've got one instance of one conversation on one tape in an 83-year lifetime...and you haven't even got the context in which that conversation occurred? The vast stupidity of inferring one is anti-Semite from that miniscule boggles the mind.
(((chuckle))) Hey, mine too!
"I find this rather stunning," said William Martin, a professor of religion and sociology at Rice University in Houston
Famous last words, "I find this rather stunning,"
Got 'Left Behind' on the bookshelf?
I thought O'Brother was ok. They lampooned the Klan and all the other negative Southern stuff (and being from Miss. I was highly sensitive) but I thought the Baptismal scene in the river was beautiful...the whole movie was a bit wry but for a Cohen Bros. movie ...they're Jews I assume...I thought it was not too shabby. I was suprised.
One of the worst flicks about Chrisitanity recently was Dogma....unfortunately courtesy of some Catholic ne'er do wells I think.
I understand your position but I think if you refined your argument a bit you'd maybe find less resistance. I think Hollywood and most of the media are hostile to the great Myth that is called Christian Conservatism in general.
I abhor hypocrisy.
Mr. Graham's behavior with Mr. Nixon is inexcusable. He was supposed to be a minister of the LORD, in case you have forgotten which team he thought he was on. He should be rebuked for moral cowardice in not standing up to Mr. Nixon.
