A lot is going to come out in the trial. Westerfield's attorney is right now planning his defense, and that will involve pushing some of the guilt off onto the parents. I would not be at all surprised to hear a defense based on (and I'm donning my tin-foil hat) Westerfield trying to "rescue" Danielle from a household that where the parents were into swinging, possibly even involving her, that Danielle became frightened, started to scream, and he tried to calm her down, but accidentally killed her.
Bizarre theory? Yes, but in light of everything we've seen in the past few years from OJ to Clinton to Condit - nothing would surprise me. Disgust me, but not surprise me.
