Good question actually.

The simple solutions such as sin, or rebellion, or not remaining in fellowship with God are all true, but I believe there are also some very real discernible differences in the generations of the last 20 years and 50 years ago.

Perhaps men were more guilty in society as a whole 50 years ago, but I believe in the last 10-20 years, women have been exposed to a number of different temptations which have increased the curse on our society.

Many women who have grown up past the baby boomers have grown into a myth of women's lib and belief that women are no different than men. ( Sorry folks, but those differences over the past 5000 yrs do exist and likewise plenty of professional women and powerful women existed long before Bella Abzug or any other Feminazi.)

I've seen many more women play the court decisions in their favor to premeditatedly enter into marriage on several occasions in different states simply to elicit lifelong annuities from past acquaintences.

I've also seen women who preplan their dominoe leapfrog off the backs of spouses but ultimately scar themselves or numb themselves from any sense of mature righteousness.

I've seen some who sincerely believe that any woman who divorces implies the man has failed them, regardless of how loving, assertive or well provided for in the relationship.

I've seen some simply at a loss later in life and turn to any temptation which walks their way, in business, money, potential security, emotion, even a considerable amount of homosexuality in these last two decades.

I've also seen some communities, say with many African Americans/blacks ake the premise that marriage is not long lasting and opt simply for births out of wedlock to avoid complications as a norm. Hard to say. Varies from culture to culture and person to person.

It wouldn't surprise me though, if somewhere the US isn't in some sort of Divine Discipline wherein homosexuality and adultery is allowed to run amuk as a penalty for past transgressions or lack of devotion to Him.

Wasn't one of the most popular books of the last decade " The Bridges of Madison County". It was all about a woman's adultery. People were raving about it. They said it was a fabulous love story. We have raised adultery and cheating to a romantic ideal.
