John and Ken broadcast from the Van Damned neighborhood.......

Excerpts from the live broadcast on the street where Danielle van Dam was abducted 2 weeks earlier. John is accosted by members of the Psychic Friends Network, David Westerfield leads undercover cops to fried chicken, then slams the door in John and Kens face. Neither Mr. Westerfield nor Mr. Kobylt were arrested over the course of the broadcast. |
Brenda does not deny the SWNG aspect of the case.
John asks what is the "deal" with this single guy hanging around Brenda at Dad's Cafe'
Ken says that San Diego PD is focused only on Westerfield. Questions why the "4 SWNGERS" that hung with the VD's the night of the disappearance are not being questioned.
Drugged out dude, recommends the Physic Friends Network...LOL!!

I hope the authorities are keeping an eye on the Van Dam's bank account. Any huge deposit needs scrutiny.

John and Ken confirmed that the Van Damned household drives a brand new Ford Excursion, the "big boy" as John says. You can really bring home a garage full.......LOL

Just got back from two weeks in San Diego. It's all there is on the news.

It's still the news. Many of us who live here think we have solved the case. We will wait for Westerfield's plea bargain: the body in exchange for no death penalty.

I hope you're right that it's Westerfield because if it isn't the press can never make up for what they're doing to him.
Doesn't it creep everyone out that the Mom never cries? I'd be a red-eyed, nose-dripping hysteric.
PS: Your local news is soooooooo boring. I see Michael Tuck has bounced back to SD. Somebody save him from his hair!

Who cares? I don't mean to be nasty about this but damn...How many children go missing everyday in this country?Too many children are missing and the only reason that the country is focused on this case is because of the media. Remember Chandra Levy? The media wouldn't let us forget her and now not a mention.
Danielle's parents were obviously more concerned about their "fun" than checking in on Danielle, especially after being alerted by the alarm that the sliding glass door was ajar.

Wow, after 2 weeks, and San Diego LE is still taking evidence. I would presume the Garage was gone over big time. Also, the VD's should be giving up any videos and printed materials they have as well. Also, PC's and Laptops should be commandeered.

Is that a camera attached to the house in the picture above of the sliding glass door? It sure looks like one!

Roof truss, and christmas lights, IMHO

But for, Westerfield's comment to police wherein he stated "I could probably take you to her (Danielle) but I want to talk to a lawyer first" I would find Westerfield a terribly tragic and sympathetic character in this whole ordeal. But, that statement gives me every reason to think he's the one who abducted the little, helpless child.
Gawd, her parents are awful, (particularly her mother). I cannot imagine not checking on my children, especially when the silent alarm showed entrance and exit through a door in the home!

Well, it looks like police science is right again.....killers/abductors are either direct family or the family knows the person in more than 80% of these cases. Rarely is this kind of action random.
The bigger question remains, how did the mother's (and father's) lifestyle affect the outcome? Connect the dots....the neighbor says he met with the mother at the bar and the mother denies it. Even if it never happened, my guess is the neighbor went to the bar to confirm that the mother would be there for a while, doing her thing (or some other man's thing). In the meantime, that left the coast clear for him to execute his plan. Think any of the newspapers or tv and radio hacks will have the guts to put that together? My guess is they will brush it off.

I would think that Danielle was not kidnapped while it was just her father in the home. He would have heard Westfield. It is more likely that she was snatched while everyone was home and in the garage, high, and making noise. They would have been oblivious as to what was going on in the home if they were locked in the party garage.
To: Hillary's Lovely Legs
Prolly right....I should have mentioned that the neighbor, in order to execute his plan, needed to know if the wife was accompanied by her husband. Once he discovered she was not, had to wait until they collectively engaged in the "festivities" in the garage before acting.
Since he may have been seen on his trip to the bar, he probably made an overt effort to be recognized by Mrs. Van Dam, which led to the comment about dancing with her. Obviously this guy is a pervert of a different nature. But, it seems to me that the parent's activities enabled him to pull this off on the evening of 2/2 and no one is going to call the Van Dams to task that their behavior, the sex or the drugs might have led to their daughter's death.
