YOUR COUNTRY STILL NEEDS YOU!

Every so many years Americans wake up to the importance of our Armed Forces, and that time is here again. Veterans, current military, spouses, and Freepers, the time is right for our voices to be heard regarding the concerns we have about the future of our Republic and the ever-expanding government intrusion in our lives.

To this end, a couple military veterans here at Free Republic had the vision to create an ongoing educational outreach program to teach our citizens about our republican form of government, how government has extended itself beyond its mandated limits, and what needs to be done to push government, particularly the federal government, back inside its constitutional box.

Introducing: Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VCR), Inc.
VCR is to be a non-profit, non-partisan Nevada corporation (articles) with the purpose and mission:

(1) To assist in the promotion of the General Welfare of the United States by serving as an educational resource center for serious research and other information about the Constitution of the United States and the founding documents in order to provide the pubic with access to these reports and studies; to make available educational materials on the Constitution to public, private and home schools, and to make available members to give lectures and lead discussions on the Constitution and founding documents; to foster, perpetuate and preserve via an ongoing educational outreach program conducted in the electronic media (including but not limited to radio, television, the Internet, etc.) to explain and teach people an appreciation of the republican form of government of this nation as defined in the Constitution of the United States, and the importance of restoring the governance of our nation to the precepts of the Constitution;
(2) to establish and maintain a collection of art and materials (including but not limited to paintings, sculpture, photos, writings, etc.) and related archival materials that reflect our heritage and Constitutional roots and provide for their display, both through regular exhibits and/or through the creation of a cyberspace museum;
(3) to educate the public about our founding documents and our heritage in electronic media (including but not limited to Radio, Television, the Internet, etc.);
(4) to provide entertainment and support to veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces via electronic media (including but not limited to radio, television, the Internet, etc.);
(5) to conduct programs which perpetuate the memory of deceased veterans and members of the Armed Forces;
(6) to sponsor or participate in activities of a patriotic nature;
(7) to provide support or otherwise assist corporations, organizations, institutions and individuals carrying on such activities which are consistent with the purposes of this corporation; and
(8) To review current and pending legislation for adherence to Constitutional law and original intent; and to engage in any other lawful activities permitted under Chapter 82 of the Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS).

We are asking you to join us in this endeavor, because of the OATH that we all took, to PROTECT and DEFEND the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. It is our time and our duty to remind Americans what so many have sacrificed and died for. Please help us to build a national organization that will promote the welfare of our military, educate Americans (especially students) on our true form of government, and reverse the governmental enroachment on our Constitutional rights!

Oops, thanks for the heads up on the typo.

Can we sign you up to help in whatever way you feel confortable? If you have no direct military connection, you may be interested in the forthcoming VCR Auxiliary. Thanks for your interest.

My father served in the Philippines during WWII...a Navy man, himself. His brother and cousin both served -Army, Navy Recon., and saw action, but my Dad (an "old" college grad by then) turned a Supply Depot's island beach into "Club Med" complete with diving rafts, basketball, photo lab, newspaper, baseball, volleyball, concerts, films. GGgranddad was a Yankee Capt. from PA. during the Civil War and had an eye shot out, died from complications after fathering a small gang w/ his wife. I humbly bow to the honorable men and women who serve....(can I help Tonk bump?).

Ping for all who gave and are still giving...

"...can I help Tonk bump".

Please do. Maybe you'd like to help out with the development of the Auxiliary or participate in some way? There's going to be plenty do, and lots of personal satisfaction for helping.

Veterans for Constitutional Restoration (VetsCor) intends to encourage the development of regional and state affiliations (chapters if you will). If you are interested in starting an affiliation in your area, please notify me either by Freepmail or at rhunter@vets4constrestore.org.

In addition, we will be promoting VetsCor to the hundreds of veterans and military organizations to build strategic and tactical alliances which support our objectives. We recently had a small but active presence at CPAC and received incredible enthusiasm for our concept. Remarks such as, "It's about time" and "What a wonderful idea" were common in our discussions.

This is a great opportunity to get in on the creation of what is surely to be a positive and influential force in educating Americans about our Constitutional heritage and the governments/politicians who have chosen to ignore it.

It's time those who gave so much are heard. Help us make their voices echo throughout the nation they so unselfishly defended.

All Gave Some;
Some Gave All

Will VCR endorse any straight party ticket or is it going to push for Constitutional ideals over any party ideals and use the Contitution as the measuring stick?

IMO, if VCR endorses any candidate simply because he isn't a certain party or because she is the lesser of evils, then VCR is nothing special.

If however, VCR will withhold endrosement if candidates don't measure up, then count me in.

I WON'T vote for anyone who voted to keep clinton in office (impeachment) and I WON'T vote for anything that smells like a gun grabber.
