After nothing but silence from Photopoint, the below form is now available on the Photopoint.com website. Check it out!!

Updated: Tue Feb 12 10:57:30 AST 2002

PhotoPoint.com is currently offline.

Please check back here (www.photopoint.com) for further developments.

I would like to assure people that their photos have not been lost, and are safe. However, due to the bandwidth, hardware, and labour costs, we are unable to put the site online.

Please take a moment to answer this survey. Only surveys with valid PhotoPoint username/password will be considered. Your first submission is the only one that will be taken into account. Please answer honestly, so we can do what is best for the membership.

This information will be useful in determining how best to move forward in allowing people to possibly get their photos back and/or have their photos online again. We are looking at various options for finding PhotoPoint members a new home.

Thank you for your feedback.

No, they haven't been doing business in any way, shape or form.

Sorry but requiring fee for service is a standard business practice. Dates back to prostitution, at the beginning of mankind...

Maybe you haven't been following this story. Photopoint, after taking all kinds of fees from their customers for photo storage, PULLED DOWN THEIR WEBSITE! To me, that is not doing business, that is a CRIMINAL act.

fee for service

Maybe to clarify, THEY TOOK THE FEE, but provided NO SERVICE. And now they are petitioning their customer base to see if they can bilk them out of more money!

It's fraud -- if and only if -- they knew they had no intention of providing the service. I'm not sure if you have enough evidence to draw that conclusion yet.

You haven't been following the story, it's obvious from the statement above. Photopoint has gone WEEKS AND WEEKS without informing their customers what is going on with their company and the photos that people entrusted them with, and PAID them to store. What does it take to send a bulk email that they were trying to get back on their feet? What does it take to tell people that you still care and want their business. Not much in these days of electronic communication. They have been mute to people's calls and emails. They are shysters. Article after article has been written about their unresponsiveness to customer requests on a status of their business. That to me is ample evidence.
