Like the equally irrelevant Bill Clinton, liberal media zillionaire Ted Turner occasionally says something asinine to get the media attention he can't live without. In his latest rant, he deemed the Sept. 11 terrorists "brave" and ridiculed President Bush.
"The reason that the World Trade Center got hit is because there are a lot of people living in abject poverty out there who don't have any hope for a better life," Turner said Monday at Brown University in Providence, R.I.
"I think they [the 19 hijackers] were brave at the very least," Turner said, and they "might have been a little nuts."
Turner groused about Al Gore's failure to steal the 2000 presidential election.
"A few more votes in Florida, and we could have had the best environmental president we ever had," he said. "Now we've got an oil man. He [President Bush] is like another Julius Caesar. Just what we need."
But like fellow Guilty White Liberal Terry McAuliffe, this frequent critic of capitalism and wealth loves capitalism when it comes to his private riches. Asked if he would allow public access to his vast landholdings in Montana, he replied:
"Can I live in your home with you? We believe in private property in this country. You buy it, and you can share it."

I think they [the 19 hijackers] were brave at the very least," Turner said, and they "might have been a little nuts." They might have been brave...if they had known their mission. But they did not...according to their generals.
Real men know their mission and do so...and that is not an act of terriorism...but of fighting an enemy who can fight back...not civilian.
Really brave men go against an enemy knowing that they might die for their beliefs after they have engaged in WAR.
I have no patience with Turner's rantings. He is not crazy...just liberal.

I was just thinking about him. Today being Ash Wednesday. You remember last year's Ash Wednesday, don't you? I would bet that Ted does "Fat Tuesday" and never Ash Wednesday. LOL

With Bush's approval rating in 80's this latest emission of gas from "Farthead" Teddy should drive the last nail in the coffin of his Crappy News Network.
What a stupid fool.

I think Ted attended Brown- don't know if he graduated. That may have had something to do with the invite.

They might have been brave...if they had known their mission. But they did not...according to their generals.
Actually, according to their generals, and the subsequent tape of Bin Laden, they did know that they were going on a suicide mission. Although they may not have been told the specific target until the last minute, I don't think there is any doubt that they knew what they were about to do.

The first time I saw Ted Turner he was giving a speech on CSPAN. I didn't know who he was. Seriously - After seeing about 10 seconds of the speech, I actually thought the man was mentally retarded because of his slurred speech and movements. After about another 20 seconds, I thought he was a homeless drunk who had been cleaned up, put in a suit and put in front of the cameras to accept some type of award. Imagine the surprise when his name went up on the screen and I realized who he was!
That boy ain't right...

"...WHY TED TURNER SAYS STUPID THINGS.."
He ate the brown acid along with his nit-wit media buddies back in the 60's. They're all in sync; thinking backward played "33&1/3" records meant something.
Call to "LHO"...you missed your real targets!
Mustang sends.

This article doesn't cover it but the link at Drudge has him saying also that 'Americans aren't willing to die for their nation'.
Tell that to the families of the men and women who have died to this point in this war. Tell that to the servicemen that died in the gulf. Tell it to the Rangers from Somalia and the 2 Delta snipers who volunteered for a suicide mission. Matter of fact I'd pay good money to see Ted go down to Ft Benning to the Ranger Bat and tell those guys personally that they and their comrades aren't willing to die for their country.
Ted, you shoulda stuck to sailing- you were actually good at that.
To: Rightone
"The real question is why would Brown University have this guy come talk to the students?"
Because they want money from him.
To: CathyRyan
No.... Ted needs to follow suit with his own father's exit.

Turner has indicated he suffers from Schizophrenia, which he thinks allows him to say and do stupid things and get away with it.Why can't he do that when Mike Tyson's around?

Why Ted Turner Says Stupid Things This is a trick question, right? I mean, the answer is obvious. Ted Turner says stupid things because Ted Turner is stupid. Duh.

Ted Turner is a great advertisement for America.
Even the mentally deficient can become rich and powerful.
