Mitchell Kahle added another scalp to his belt when restrictions on apparel and accessories depicting Satanism were yanked from Kaimuki High School's dress code last week.
"To me, Satanism is a superstition," Kahle said. "Just like Christianity."
The point, he insisted, was that if one religious symbol is banned from a public school dress code, they all must go.

He'll be an atheist until his long life is over...Then he'll know the truth, but by then it will be too late.
It must be nice, knowing beforehand, that you're betting on the winning horse.
However, as you say, there is no legitimate reason for taking crosses, which do no harm to anyone.
Lousy scan, but it was the only one I've found online in the couple of minutes I spent looking.
Witch Doctors, and certain ecclesiastical courts -- Catholics included, are/were empowered to send individuals to their death.
Reservations are now being accepted for Eternity...smoking or nonsmoking?
It is not a gamble for a Christian. Although, it is your right to continue casting lots under the cross.
A real threat now, isn't it? Tens of thousands alive today have had a member of their family executed by Catholic courts.
Btw...the civil courts in Spain were worse than the Inquisition. People petitioned to be tried by the Church. It is also not surprising that theocratic governments would have theocratic courts.
If you are interested in systems which oppress, I suggest you look toward Marxism and Islam, not Christianity or Judaism
"I've wondered about that too. Years ago I did a story about an extreme Atheist in Iowa. Years later someone told me he'd found God! I was so stunned I called him. Sure enough. I'm about 99.44 percent positive that's not going to happen with Kahle. But hey, anything's possible. Yours humbly... Will Hoover"
Atheism - A = without, theism = religion
Atheists don't have religin, we're without religion, we believe in no religion.
There's nothing contradictory there at all...
Now, believing that "God is merciful" and "God damns people to Hell for all eternity," there's a contradiction!
Yes. But by saying there is no God, you have made a categorical statement about the nature of existence as metaphysical, theological and doctrinal as fundamentalists who believe God speaks to them. The only way to avoid making a theological claim is to be an agnostic.
For the record, sounds like the guy is a Christian basher as well. I know it was not thought of at the time, but imo, there is some event leading up to the 7th grade incident--molestation? even demonic possession? that caused him to "suddenly" deny his faith. Think John Walker here. It's a shame, like Walker, that instead of dealing with his issues(and he's had a lot more time to do so), he is using his hatred as a means by which to restrict other folks expression of thier faith merely because the very site of thier symbols offends him. I don't know about anyone else, but I get the creeps by people like this where thier agenda and reason for lack of faith is not clear. Like something very sinister is lurking beneath. Many people in this camp you can chalk up to the sheer stupidity that sheeple have, but someone like this--shiver.
To say that it's contradictory to believe in a God of mercy, and to also believe that this God of mercy can condemn people to hell, is a shallow contention, intellectually. The true theological "tension" is a belief in a God of mercy, and a belief in a God of justice -- justice requiring punishment.
It's only because God's justice has been satisfied in Christ's death that anyone can experience God's mercy. There is no reason for anyone to be consigned to hell, not with the provision and the price that God himself paid on our behalf. As C.S. Lewis wrote in numerous places, the only reason people end up in hell is that they choose to end up there. (Read "The Great Divorce.")
