In a thread yesterday about Tom Brokaw, someone said that they were willing to bet that Brokaw would never utter a single syllable about Global Crossing as long as he was doing the NBC Nightly Ooze.

Well, guess whuuuut? Tonight, they did a story about Global Double-Crossing, Brokaw likened it to Enron in some ways, then cut to Lisa Myers who did a number on Terry McAuliffe and his ability to turn mustard greens into $18M. Myers also said that it appeared that the only business Global was in consisted of making paper sham transactions for the enrichment of "its own people."

Does GE still use the slogan, "Where Progress Is Our Most Important Product?" (Note - if you have to ask why GE's slogan is relevant, you're disqualified.)

Let's Roll on the Global Crossing story. Make the demoRATS think twice about pushing the ENRON angle.Hey I am actually beginning to enjoy this. The buzzards are beginning to return just in time for the 2002 election cycle.

Hot diggity dog! It's about time some focus be shifted to Global Crossing from the feds. Now how about some congressional hearings?

Imus is talking about Global with Lieberman this morning. His usual liberal coverage Imus throws softballs to him. He did ask if Clinton should give back the 1 million he got from Global Crossings and he just laugh....What a sorry excuse for a Senator.....

Rep. Peter Deutch (D-from somewhere) just said on FOX and Friends two things of note: 1) That "administration officials" sold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of Enron stock just in time and 2) when asked about the Global Crossing bankruptcy and possible hearings, Deutch said the GX situation was "different".

Comments anyone?

IF a real inquiry is ever made into Enron, Global Crossing, and others that are presumably lurking out there--a thing I sort of doubt--I predict it will be revealed that ALL these people were in bed with the Clinton administration, that they were ALL aided and abetted by the Clinton/DNC money machine that put hundreds of these people on endless "trade missions" around the world.

But as I say, I don't think a full inquiry will be launched, only forays into areas of interest to those who want to tied Republicans to it.

Link ?? Global {Double} Crossing, Terry McAuliffe and AFL- IPO

the Union Labor Life crowd seems to be stuck in Global Crossing ..... they took a huge hit at least $145 Million (on McAuliffe's advice?)

why do I find unsettling the image of Ken Lay, Martin Davis and Terry McAuliffe all together in Aspen ?
