Tender Tinder

Tender Tinder
So recently, and yet a time agone,
Our tender tinder nestled, unremarked.
By flinty sense, conclusions seemed forgone
But no-- a glint of something else was sparked.
With Winter all around us growing colder
To perigee of Solstice in December
How lowly did it linger small and smolder,
While we ignored the light within the ember?
And then
a wind upon our kindling blew.
Recurling wafts of passion rose like smoke,
Incensing us
Igniting what we knew
And from that ash, bright tongues of fire spoke
Our flaming hearts are hearths that burn and beat;
My Sweet, the mountains melt before our heat.

Your poem embodied the spirit of romanticism it's captivating, brilliant, daring and dissolute.
