"It is clear that, in too many places, students and education employees who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered face a hostile environment," Chase said Friday in the statement. While a hostile environment is not good for anyone, gays should analyze why. Perhaps they ought to look at some of the more militant ones setting the rest of us all such a good example of their tolerant ways. What goes around, comes around.

schools also will be encouraged to develop factual materials for classroom discussions on homosexuality Fact 1: homos do things that are unnatural, scatalogical, sickening and disgusting to any civilized human being.

Under a plan adopted Friday by the National Education Association's board of directors, schools also will be encouraged to develop factual materials for classroom discussions on homosexuality. Will it be like in Massachusetts, Celebrating Diversity weeks (all sexual orienatation welcome) and Fistgates and homosexual teachers pestering students? One thing good about recession and huge military spending - money might run out for this insanity.

NEA President Bob Chase has said gay and lesbian teachers in some states face losing their jobs because of their sexual orientation. In Massachusetts alternative sexual orientations are the BEST ticket to be hired. But later those new "teachers" do not know how to behave or teach and lose their jobs anyway. Affirmative action is just a cruel joke on those unfortunate souls.

In 20 or 30 years, unless something drastic is done before then, public schools will be a welfare system for the poor and/or those on the fringes of society.

All staff and students will be encouraged to speak up when they see or experience discrimination based on sexual orientation. J'accuse!!

If anyone is upset about this, don't just whine about it. Come to THIS THREAD and take action. We are trying to alert teachers around the nation that they have the right to get money back. With help from all of you, we could do serious damage to the NEA and get them to stop funding political activities without permission. Go to the thread, pick some schools or districts, and make an effort to let teachers know about their rights. Thanks.

Kotterman, a middle school special education teacher in the Kyrene School District in suburban Phoenix, said the plan will help schools with difficult issues of student sexuality. Isn't this the parents job, not the schools. I don't have any kids, but isn't teaching morality a parents main job(after feeding, clothing etc) ?

School children are
MINORS. Could we charge the NEA with conspiracy to commit lewd acts with
minors or contributing to the delinquency of a
minor???
School children are not of consenting age. Is this a form of molestation?

A study last year by the University of North Carolina estimated that 5 percent to 6 percent of students 17 Well there is good news here, the Gay promoters have lowered their claim of 10% of the population.

Under a plan adopted Friday by the National Education Association's board of directors, schools also will be encouraged to develop factual materials for classroom discussions on homosexuality. Absolutely. Unfortunately, I don't think factual material such as the extremely high risk of AIDS from homosexuality will be taught. The NEA "factual" material that will be taught is everyone is partially gay and its all genetics and gay is good.

"
The NEA represents 2.6 million teachers and other school employees."
Unfortunately the NEA has forced their influence over those which know such is harmful to the children, and intimidate their opposition into silence by threats of alienation in order to CLAIM "the NEA represents...".
Tolerance is a good virtue, but virtue should never be sacrificed for the sake of tolerance.

This sentence in the article is what caught my eye -
"A statement by the NEA said the information schools provide should be age-appropriate, nonjudgmental and relevant to subject matter being studied."
The word "nonjudgemental" makes this whole thing unconstitutional. It infringes on our constitutional rights to have free exercise of our religion.
We do not want our children being taught, at taxpayers expense too, that it's ok to be gay.
In the free exercise of our faith we believe it is sinful and immoral.
The "judgement" has already been made.

I guess the NEA won't like the bill that passed the Virginia House this week.
Feb 08, 2002
Bill Would Ban Discussion Of Gays
If you're gay, some state lawmakers don't want you to talk about it in class.
Discussions about homosexuality - even at gay-straight alliance meetings run by students - would be prohibited.
And school boards' hands would be tied, should a bill moving smoothly through the General Assembly win Senate approval.
House Bill 88 forces Virginia school boards to "develop policies prohibiting presentations, classroom discussions, school-sponsored assemblies and student meetings" that deal with sodomy and other "crimes against nature."
The bill passed Monday in the House by a vote of 83-16.
Now, local activists are gearing up for a fight as the bill heads to the Senate.
Patty Smith of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) of Richmond, said she's concerned the bill would curtail effective HIV and AIDS education.
Representatives of local gay organizations and the Virginia Education Association say the bill goes too far in limiting teachers and school boards.
