"If your argument is true, then the books referred to in the Old Testament ar not the Word of God,"

The first 4 books of the New Testamrent contain the word of God, since it is He who is quoted there. The Old and New Testament, including the Book of Moses, contains history, the words of men and words inspired by God. The key to understanding what is written in the Bible is what is given by God Himself, in the first 4 Books of the NT.
Matthew 11:27
"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

God does not contradict Himself, so if there's a question regarding what God has to say on the matter, see the quote from God, not that of a man.

" Orthodox Christianity would vehemently disagree with your position on that point."

If by orthodox, you mean, various established denomination's teachings and doctrine, yes they would disagree, because they would contradict what is contained in the Bible, or reality itself. Those thoughts, in other words are the creation of men, not God.

That's the first time I've ever heard that view, and I'm sure that most Christians would strongly disagree with it.
