In the past few months I have noticed that the posters on Free Republic have become more and more hostile towards social conservatism.
And I do not mean indifference (less pro life threads etc) but an outright hostility at pro life and other social conservative causes.
Am I alone in thinking this?
In particular, notice the responses to the thread concerning the recent request by social conservative groups to the FCC to reign in Fox's racey primetime programs.
I wonder if this is becoming only a haven for hedonists and libertarians, and if so, perhaps it would be better for social conservatives to find their own site.
Jesus is God, there is no moral relativism in His teachings. Only God can account for Himself and divulge who He is, men can't do that.
"God rebuked Moses plenty of times for many different things, as when he was once almost killed by God, and then when he was not allowed to enter the Promised Land."
God did not rebuke Moses. This was Moses's explaination for things that happened, or were going to happen. Moses has a Free will.
You are only half right. Do a bit of research (you know, actually read stuff, and you'll find out where EXACTLY you are wrong here). Again, why should anyone believe you after you have been shown to be wrong on 2 of your major points that you keep repeating like a parrot? You said marijuana was "legalized" in California, remember Sparko? You have no idea what you're babbling on about. But that won't stop you, will it.
hahaha. How juvenile. I can see I have been debating a child. Moral relativist - That's exactly what I demonstrated that you were and that is exactly what I ripped to pieces in my posts - your moral relativism. Please stop playing stupid, everyone is watching (or maybe you aren't playing).
Spitballs?
Name calling does nothing to facilitate discussion and certainly adds nothing of value to a conversation. I'm sure we are all tempted to call others some well-deserved names at times but most of us try to restrain ourselves for the greater good. Personally, I think that when a poster starts the name calling and demeaning remarks it is pointless to engage them furthur.
All you've done is post Scripture.
If your argument is true, then the books referred to in the Old Testament ar not the Word of God, merely the words of Moses. Orthodox Christianity would vehemently disagree with your position on that point.
You stated that I had no recourse in logic because I was a relativist. You conveniently left out the word moral when making that argument, because you had to. I have proven from your own Bible that God himself is a moral relativist, so any arguments you make about me also apply to him,. You have not refuted any of my arguments that were based on your own scripture, so you cannot appeal to them as the basis of absolute morlity.
The first 4 books of the New Testamrent contain the word of God, since it is He who is quoted there. The Old and New Testament, including the Book of Moses, contains history, the words of men and words inspired by God. The key to understanding what is written in the Bible is what is given by God Himself, in the first 4 Books of the NT.
Matthew 11:27
"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
God does not contradict Himself, so if there's a question regarding what God has to say on the matter, see the quote from God, not that of a man.
" Orthodox Christianity would vehemently disagree with your position on that point."
If by orthodox, you mean, various established denomination's teachings and doctrine, yes they would disagree, because they would contradict what is contained in the Bible, or reality itself. Those thoughts, in other words are the creation of men, not God.
That's the first time I've ever heard that view, and I'm sure that most Christians would strongly disagree with it.
Inasmuch as you feel no sense of responsibility to the truth, it would appear that any conversation with you at all, must begin with an exercise in rationalizing fraud.
Have a nice night Roscoe.
(and for the record, you really are losing your game)
