Sean Hannity said that they will be breaking a story at 1530 EST that a flag found at the WTC is not welcome at the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olymics because it is "too American."

Your "mememe" reply was a stereotyping cheap shot. Sure, some of these Olympians are in it for the money and fame and are arrogant jerks. Unfortunately, that's more true than it used to be when Avery Brundage ran things (say what you will about his definition of amateurism, you know that the athletes competing were in it for the love of sport-it sure couldn't have been anything else).

That said, there are plenty of people whose love of sport and motivation for self-improvement are unassailable, and who can't possibly be accused of me-me selfishness. I'll start with Bonnie Blair, Dan Jansen, the 1980 US Hockey team, Jim Ryun, Dan Gable, and the guy who won Greco-Roman wrestling in Sydney.

The sad thing is that the IOC, with the shameful compliance of Mit Romney and the USOC, are alienating the very people who would tune in to admire the truly noble athletes.

I'm for reasonable immigration policies. To Brigadiers, that means no one other than white, anglo-saxon geniuses. And even then, make sure they aren't Jewish.

Maybe you know countries that have truly prospered by closing their borders. I don't. Switzerland is still a rich, but fairly insignificant little blip on the mountains.

All the other states tend to be dictatorships.

You, and many others, want to launch into a DIFFERENT problem which is how immigrants should be treated once here---no different than any other American, and to me that means NO ONE should get welfare. I supported Prop 209. But until you can get that into law, to drastically restrict immigration on the grounds that people "might" not become productive citizens is a bad policy based on a trend NOT borne out by history.

I think, (came in in mid conversation) Hannity just said the the PA officer that brought this to light yesterday has been relieved of his duties and won't be going to Salt Lake with the flag. The brass go PO'd.
