Air and Thought

Air and Thought
All day I dreamed I'd rather be someplace
The air is still and quiet. Some tranquil scene,
Some peaceful seat, where I might savor grace--
How likely that my heart would be serene?
I'd know her laughing footfalls coming there
And I would feel her shadow's cool caress,
Then I would smell the darkness of her hair.
Ahh
Now I hear the rustle of her dress
She sits, and with each breath, each word, I take
In from her lips, I share her air and thought.
My eyes sip sunlight splashing her, and slake,
For now, a thirst in me
unquenched
unsought.
Intentions blush; our timid joys are met.
Though I am touched, shall I touch her? Not yet.

One poem deserves another...
So beautiful when she sleeps
Her hair cascades on the pillow
Like a soft silken meadow
My fingers can run barefoot through
So beautiful when she sleeps
Her curves caressed by the covers
As if they were jealous lovers
She sometimes takes my breath away
Just a little song I've been working on...

I had a request for a poem this morning...
Everyone suffers... Not I. Thanks for the sonnet.

To be 'touched by Grace' and yet not able return that touch, except in the touching of others, is the essence of 'the Spirit'. Wonderfully done, o poet laureate of FR.

If you show her this poem, you may not have to touch her...she'll touch you.

Mother, Mother, tell me true
Why the moo cow go moo-moo
And the she goat go naa-naa
What is that?
The heck you say!
Father, Father, Mother lied
When she said that you had died
Here you stand now at my bed
You could do that
If you were dead!

Oh, Lovely.....and I know just the place, too. (True, she has the wrong hair color, but you're supposed to be looking at the scenery. :-)

Sounds like a Maui encounter.
In the soft Maui night
her hot breath did linger
not feeling the ring
slip from my finger.
