My initial reaction is disgust, to be frank. The privileged Bush kids seem to have no clue about the responsibilities that come with that privilege. Would it be too much to expect this kid to ask herself---before she broke the law---what impact her actions might have on the millions of Americans who depend on her father and uncle for leadership?

Jeb Bush has released a statement indicating that the report is true. She was trying to pass off a bogus prescription---a deliberate illegal act.

Libertarian arguments aside for the legalization of drugs e.g., most of the laws in this country are selectively enforced. Everyone speeds on the interstate, (the defacto speed is, say, 70 instead of 65). By letting everyone speed, it gives them the ability to pull anyone over for another reason (let's say a van with Florida plates on Rt95 up north to check for drugs). These reasons can be political as well.

FNC needs Judge Napalitano (sp?). An arrest is just an arrest, it doesn't become a charge until a prosector makes a filing to try her for a violation.

She would have to be an adult otherwise the AP couldn't release the name of a juvenile.
There is nothing that prohibits the media from releasing the name of a juvenile who is arrested. They frequently choose not to release a name, out of courtesy to someone being a child. Sometimes the media don't even have a name at this point, because the cops withhold it if the person might get consideration as a juvenile offender.

The media will make asses of themselves over this, but there's not likely to be any permanent political damage.

I hope his daughter gets treatment. This is a danger sign of possible addiction.

Since when did a 20 something florida girl merit urgent news bulletins because she tried to score a medication. This has got to happen hundreds of times all over the country daily. And who among us has not had a family member with some kind of problem with meds, alcohol or illegal drugs. And who among us has not borrowed a little med of some kind from a friend. The news will reveal their bias and their malice with this big time. Meanwhile I hope Noelle gets some help and not just publicity.

And, remember Chad Gore got busted for doing 100+mph near the Outer Banks a couple of months before the election. Someone managed to keep that one squelched for a week or so.
