If all they were doing was changing the usage of Men and Man in context to "people" when referring to all peoples, I doubt many would object. The issue is that these translations change very important word, form and context of the Bible. Please go back and get all the information before you accept this translation.
Honestly though, John 3:16 (For God so loved the World....) and the entire message of Salvation is WORLD based and cannot be confused to pertain to Men only. It is our JOB to inform them of the TRUTH.
The new HCSB looks promising, but the NASB and KJV are still my English language versions of choice.
I will have to take your word on that one, I have no PERSONAL knowledge of that.. May God HELP/SAVE America !!
FReegards,

Phil. 2:6: (NKJV 1979e.) change "thought it not robbery to be equal with God" to "did not consider equality with God something to be grasped". (robs Jesus Christ of deity)
No, it does not rob Christ of any diety (one of the hot-button phrases used by the KJV-only crowd), not in the least! The fact is, the KJV translation is wrong. You see, rather than grasp (cling to) His status in heaven, Christ made Himself of no reputation (emptied Himself), took the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. Look at the verse in context with verse 7, and you'll see how your KJV-only cohorts have intentionally deceived you into believing their lie, and the true meaning of verse 6 was totally lost in the KJV.
The NKJV changes the Word of God at the request of Monica Lewinsky!!
If you did, here's an editorial change that appears as the article as it currently appears online (CNN, Washington Post, et al.)
This morning's version: The International Bible Society said Monday that America's best-selling modern Bible is about to get an update using gender-neutral wording, despite past criticism of that idea from conservative Christians.

I'm assuming you are trying to point out that Rupert Murdoch is behind the change. You might have a point if the actual text of the NIV was owned by Zondervan Publishing
On the contrary, the NIV text is copywrited by the International Bible Society. Zondervan Publishing has only the publication rights to the NIV.

I do not see how the context or meaning is lost in the KJV as you state. I also take offense of you statement: "deceived you into believing their lie". You have made no Factual case of a Lie, only your interpretation.
What of this little change
John 1:3: change "All things were made BY him;" to "All things were made THROUGH Him" (NKJV, NIV, NRSV, RSV)
Why the change...to make it more clear?
I do not condemn those that use a NKJV or NIV. I just do not see how on might think it necessary for The NKJV to remove the word "Lord" 66 times, The NKJV removes the word God 51 times, The NKJV removes the word "heaven" 50 times. How In just the New Testament alone the NKJV removes 2,289 words from the KJV and The NKJV makes over 100,000 word changes. Is it so important to make it easier to read that we remove words like Lord or God? I have no problem reading the KJV. (I am not publicly trained though.) What other works will we change to meet our lowering reading skills I wonder.
The NKJV also decides that maybe "Hades" should be "grave"! So the NKJV makes 1 Corinthians 15:55 "much clearer" by changing "grave" to "Hades"! ". . . O Hades, where is your victory?" Clear as mud. . . If Hades is Hell (why change that 23 times?) Hell has victory, the Grave does not.
The NKJV claims to make the "old" KJV "much clearer" by "updating obsolete words" (New King James Version, 1982e. p. 1235)
How about that "obsolete word" - "hell". The NKJV removes the word "hell" 23 times! And how do they make it "much clearer"? By replacing "hell" with "Hades" and "Sheol"! Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines Hades: "the underground abode of the dead in Greek MYTHOLOGY". By making it "much clearer" - they turn your Bible into MYTHOLOGY! Not only that, Hades is not always a place of torment or terror! The Assyrian Hades is an abode of blessedness with silver skies called "Happy Fields". In the satanic New Age Movement, Hades is an intermediate state of purification!
I cannot Study a Children's Bible or a mistranslated one. Since I am called to Study Gods Word, I will get a Bible that matches as close as possible to the original text. Until one closer is available that is the KJV.
