Please pray for her, she is not doing well. I am afraid she will not live through the night. We are very worried for her.

My condolences. I've got two of the furry noisemakers myself; I'm not sure what I would do without them.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Also giving her condensed milk. But she is losing interest in eating that tonight and is just curled up in a cat bed with labored breathing.

How's her digestion? My Casper was getting pretty emaciated and lethargic and wasn't eating until the vet figured out he was constipated and cleared him out. Now he's regained some weight back to his normal self.

I'll give my Casper an extra smoosh for Jessie. Hopefully he can send it on via that Feline Telepathic Network.

Jessie is in my thoughts and prayers. We lost a 14-year-old several years ago. The symptoms sound similar, but perhaps they all act the same when they are not well. Our Misty Blue had kidney failure. It was a sad day for us. Those little critters can bring so much joy into our lives.I pray that Jessie recovers and most if all that she is not in pain. God Bless

If you have somewhere, this late at night, to buy olive leaf extract, try it. Crush up 3 caps, add it to sugar water and 'force feed' her. Make sure you don't put too much in the mouth at a time, it'll get in the lungs.

We've saved pups in the last throes of parvo, with that recipe'. (amazed the vet)

If you CAN'T get the o.l.e. this late, olive oil will work also. (until you can get to the store)

Dear Don Joe, sorry to hear of your pain. Pets are the best thing in the world. Unconditional love. My lab is my best friend and getting old. The thought of losing her is a terrible feeling. May GOD bless.

Prayers for little Jessie. While we're at it everyone can also pray for my kitty, Heathcliff. He had a terrible case of diarhea yesterday and was so sick. I took him to the vet and he gave him a couple of shots. Today he seems much better. He was the outside neighborhood cat for four or five years. Everyone fed him and petted him and he has always been a very loving kitty. But I began to worry about him as he was growing thin. So we took him and had him neutered and brought him in for the winter. He loves being with people. You can't sit down unless he's on your lap. When I pick him up he snuggles up close to my neck and purrs like an engine. He's a sweetheart. I know how you must love your kitty, Don and I will continue to pray for her.

I'm sitting here crying, with my Boston terrier on my lap and my three cats within arm's length. We're all praying for you, and if we can get the Boston to pray, anything is possible.

Scratch Jessie behind her ears for me, and tell her we love her . . . and you'll get through this somehow, friend.

The peace of God be with you all. Especially Jessie.

Hehehehe. You should have been here to clean it up. I was not a happy camper. Especially as it was right after I discovered that my basement had six inches of water in it.

Hey, doesn't the bible say a righteous man cares for the needs of his pet? Good job, DJ

I am a bit of an exhausted wreck at the moment, tried to sleep a few times bit it wasn't to be. Am going to crash after I send this, and ping everyone in the morning.

My wife took her in to the vet this morning on her way to work. They did more tests, said her liver enzymes aren't too good, and the vet said she thought she felt small bumps starting on her kidneys. They gave her prednisone, antibiotics, and an injection rehydration (not IV, the needle just goes under the skin, not into a vein). They gave my wife the IV bag (not really IV but the bag is the same), a hose, and some needles, and we are to hook her up for a fifth of a bag every other day, and give her the prednisone and antibiotics every day.

She was only 3 1/2 pounds, she must have lost a pound in the last two days, it happened so fast. When my wife got back with her this afternoon we tried to feed her but she wasn't interested in the liver/egg mix. My wife said to give her some chicken (I picked the meat, fat, skin off the bones from chicken soup from a few days ago and tried giving it to her last night, but she wasn't interested in it then). This time she dove into the chicken and devoured three large (for her) servings of it (the equivalent of a person eating three large plates heaped with chicken scraps), and then drank some condensed milk.

I am hoping she will pull through this and her body can fight off the disease, whatever it is. The vet thinks it might be an intestinal infection that the antibiotics can help with. She seems to be feeling a little better, and I can feel her rehydrating, she still feels like skin and bones but I can feel the muscles on her back starting to fill out. I feel so bad for her, she is such an innocent creature. She's the one cat that all the others love. They dote on her, they always have, there's something about her personality.

Thanks everyone for the prayers, they are appreciated, and it looks like they may be working. I was so afraid she wouldn't make it throught the night and now she's doing a little better, but any improvement is dramatic compared to the way she was declining so fast.

Thanks for the good news, Don Joe. Glad to hear Jessie is feeling better. I hope she makes a full recovery, and is her peppy self once again.
