KRISTOL GOT $100,000 FROM ENRON: Bill Kristol emails to clarify that he was on the Enron advisory board for two years I believe, for what would be a total of $100,000. That makes Kristol the biggest Enron pundit beneficiary so far. And the sum wasnt disclosed until today, so far as I know. The web spreads. Who else was on the board? Did any pundits get more than Kristol? Stay tuned ... - 6:20:06 PM

Hahahaha!!! The supporter of Senator Campaign Finance!!! How delicious!!
Bill Kristol got more money than anyone in the Congress. Ha!
Well, let's just see who else got money, especially given that now Marc Rich is oozing into the picture!
And I want to complain right here and now that I didn't get one red cent. Life is so unfair!!
To: College Repub
well, you know larry kudlow of NROnline also took money. seems like, with the exception of paul krugman at the ny times, Enron targeted conservative writers. but we shall see. . . i'd be thrilled to death if press was implicated.

If he didn't have a puff piece on Enron in the Weekly Standard, I'd be disappointed.

here's the link to kudlow's own apologia (sort of): http://www.nationalreview.com/kudlow/kudlow012202.shtml

Obviously, no journalist should be able to maintain a retirement plan or invest in anything. After all, that's the only way they can maintain their precious "objectivism" - right? LOL!

How come I didn't get any money from Enron? WAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

well, bit of a difference between playing the market and getting paid $100,000 -- I mean, really, $100,000!!!!! -- to do what your told. and yeah -- sure would like to know what kristol's pal mccain thinks about this.
To: anniegetyourgun
Well, I think that most of the writers will be conservatives (or fake conservatives, like Kristol). Very few business writers, even for liberal publications, are liberal themselves. Krugman is probably the exception.
However, the whole point is that one cannot say that politicians can be bought with campaign donatioins, while journalists can remain objective even whilst receiving PERSONAL funds. Does not compute.

Article says Kristol was on the Enron advisory board. I get a feeling he's going to be spending more time in court and depos explaining what his advice was than running around shilling for McCain these next...oh...five or six years.
