Some other poster made a very salient point a while back, that no sitting administration had ever approved of looking back for wrongdoings by its predecessors.

True, but how many predecessors have inserted themselves so boldly against the policies of their successors. Bill Clinton, just after blaming Americans for the terrorist attacks of September 11, celebrated the anniversary of same by joking about blowing his saxaphone on Letterman's show. Clinton, by leading the democrats' attack against this administration for political advantages, is underming the unity of these United States in our war against terror. He should be exposed as the traitor he is.
