I saw a live report from Orlando Salinas in Cuba. He said those pictures were taken on the Cuban side of the prison, Castro had allowed some reporters to take those pictures. On the base side they can't get close enough to take pictures like these.

Under the Geneva Convention, PoWs must be tried by the same courts and under the same procedures as US soldiers.

However, non-uniformed combatants can be summarily executed. We're being kind.

Personally, I'd suggest summarily executing any of them who claims he's gonna kill Americans while he's there.

of course, it is painfully obvious why all this is happening. it's happening for the same reason that the chinese "president" is viewing the tape of the 9/11 horror over and over and over...people all over the world hate us because we have it so good...because we really are a model for many countries in many (not all) ways.

they are picking at every little thing because they are GASP*JEALOUS*...jealous of our way of life, our prosperity, the fact that most people in this country have lots more rights than anywhere else in the world.

this is pukey. those who criticize are incapable of caring for monsters like those in guantanamo themselves, yet they SURELY have ideas on how to do it better...those who criticize will pony up almost NO money to help care for the military efforts.

i say, let's let the critics go to guantanamo and serve as soldiers for the al queada....surround 'em ALL with a barbed wire fence.
