Treasonous Turnout in Tampa: Part 1 – The Leader and the Reporter

Hello FReepers,

Here is some video from Saturday’s anti-war protest in Tampa. In this first part you will see Omali Yeshitela, the leader of the Florida peaceniks, and Amani Channel, a reporter for the Tampa FOX affiliate.

Besides documenting the usual anti-American communist rhetoric, this video presents a detailed example of leftist media bias.

A few production notes: The audio is patchy in some places because it was very windy (I don’t have a very effective windjammer) and it was a very noisy environment. Also my signature ‘Fisheye Look’ is a little cockeyed because I bumped the camera, and it seems to have moved the CCDs ever so slightly, so that the fisheye effect is only on one side, but it’s no big deal and it doesn’t affect the content. I only noticed this once I returned. Next time, I will use another wide-angle lens with no fisheye effect.

And finally, because of popular demand, I am now encoding the files for Windows Media Player. I’ve even included a broadband version with a larger frame size!

Enjoy the video,

Jorge Torres

Yes, obviously it was capitalism that brought those towers down...

Come now, I see a big corporation slam I wouldn't agree with in regards to the TC and Enron feeds fuel on that fire. Come on, there's nothing here so far that proves any link to communism in these org's. Give it up somebody or anti-antiwar is blowing smoke again IMHO.

The Workers World Party isn't proof of a communist ideology to you?

Jorge, You are my hero. The obvious bias of the reporter (and attempted intimidation by their cameraman) made my blood boil.

Some journalist.

I am sick of reporters saying, "they have a right to be whatever they want."

That is true, but doesn't mean you don't have the right to counter that, question that and ridicule that

Keep up the great work Jorge!

Come on, there's nothing here so far that proves any link to communism in these org's.

This is the classic modus operandi of the communists. It goes something like this: "Communists? What are you talking about? We're not communists. Communists, sheesh, what a nut! That's silly, we're not communists."

Yet, once they get in power, low and behold, what'dya know? They're COMMUNISTS!

For a stunning real world example of this, on video no less, check out this excellent site.

From the WWP website (be sure to notice the identical WEF photo that appeared on the ANSWER website, and the links at the bottom of the page):

Have you ever thought of joining a working-class party that fights against capitalism? For over 40 years, Workers World has been that party.

Workers World has united Black, Latino, Native, Asian, Arab and white in the struggle against racism. It has brought together women and men, lesbian, gay, bi, trans and straight, youth and seniors, workers and the unemployed, native-born and immigrants to fight for better conditions for all. Members of WWP have worked hard and long to build many of the most important progressive actions of the last three decades.

But you can't just patch up this racist, sexist society. Capitalism rests on the exploitation of the many by the few. The monopoly of economic and political power by a small ruling class becomes more concentrated every day with mega-billion-dollar mergers and mass layoffs. That's why capitalist democracy produces nothing but hot air. The power of the workers and the oppressed is in the streets, not in Washington.

Workers World fights for a socialist society -- where the wealth is socially owned and production is planned to satisfy human need.

That's also what workers around the world, from Cuba to China, have been struggling for. The U.S. rulers have spent trillions of our tax dollars trying to stop them in a global class struggle. WWP promotes international working-class solidarity, the right of every nation to sovereignty and self-determination(*As long as these nations "self-determine" themselves to be communists*), and militant resistance at home to imperialist interventions and wars.

Do you belong in such a party? Then contact us:

Now a brief history lesson--Ramsey Clark (the former U.S. Attorney General, thank you so much Johnson) was a member of Sam Marcy's Workers World Party, and founded the International Action Center in 1991 or 92. International ANSWER was formed by IAC members immediately, and I do mean immediately, after 9/11. Thus their planned September protest against the IMF in DC became an antiwar event without skipping a beat or changing the lineup of their speakers--they just had to print new signs. The WWP, IAC, and ANSWER are basically the SAME organization. They are headed by many of the SAME people. They support the SAME causes. And they are involved up to their necks in just about every anti-war protest in the country right now.

Still don't see them as communists? Well, they've got a zillion articles by Sam Marcy to read, that should do it for you.

Workers World fights for a socialist society -- where the wealth is socially owned and production is planned to satisfy human need.***

This says it all. Wealth is "socially" (read government) owned and doled out to those who are determined by the people in power as needing it. Just as in the USSR and countless other areas, this means that the fat cats get a lot fatter and the poor get nothing.

Production being planned to satisfy need is nothing more than the gov't determining that you need a new pair of tennis shoes, size 7, no more than once a year. By central planning production, there is no catering to consumer wishes and their own determined needs. Therefore, there is reams of stuff produced unnecessarily and people can't get the stuff they want.

With all the bloody failures of the 20th century available to them, it must be only the quest for power and the willfullness of utopians to think that they can have a successful socialist society.

Capitalism isn't perfect, but it has given mankind the highest standard of living on earth along with the most streamlined productivity and the greatest amount of people who started out poor and made it good.

Thanks, but one like this pretty well proves them a front and is more than I can stomach for now. I did a search on communism and really didn't expect to find anything, LOL! Wonder if he's any relation to the late John?

'What prospects for communism in the 21st century?' WW Party Conference: Excerpts from a talk by Larry Holmes

Well, there you go. Larry Holmes (not the boxer) is an IAC member (and a big fan of Mumia Abu-Jamal). He was one of the speakers at a meeting here in NYC, which I attended along with freepers Nitro and KLT. We didn't actually get to HEAR him speak, as we were detected and ejected in less than two minutes. :D No way we would have lasted long enough to hear Ramsey Clark, the headliner that evening.

A year ago I would also have scoffed at the idea that communists were still trying to take over the world. I'm not laughing anymore. There is nothing funny about the crowds they can assemble for their events, or the reach of their influence on college campuses and public schools. And churches.

I don't think so. Most of the Greenies know or care little about Joe Stalin. The problem with the Greenies is not that they like commies, it's that they think world politics should always be warm and fuzzy. There's a big difference between warm-fuzzy and commies.

Um, not really. Read the Green Party Platform and get back to me about how warm and fuzzy this out fit is. Oh yeah, they're against the war, too. Surprise, surprise.

The organizers and leaders know EXACTLY what they are doing. It's the mush-headed followers who think this is a warm and fuzzy way to live. Why?--most of them have had this crap drummed into their heads since grade school, with our tax dollars. That should frighten you.

We thought we had won, yet what's happened is that they've "repackaged" communism in new forms, with new messages that really resonate with people who wouldn't normally be drawn to it. I know otherwise-intelligent people who, in the end, would VOTE for this tyrannical plan because they are truly convinced that the planet will DIE unless they do, and that this is really what's"best" for the most people. It wouldn't be good for anyone, but you can't make them see it. The brainwashing has been too thorough.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the Greens are benign. They're anything but.

Check your local Green Party website too. Some of the State chapters are even further "out there" than the national party.

And the funny thing is, most Greenies don't even really know WHAT they're voting for. They think in very simplistic terms. Everyone will be equal, everyone will be nice to one another, no one will want for anything, and nothing will be ugly becuse pretty green things will grow everywhere. The nuts and bolts of achieving what they think they want, completly escapes them.
