It's Now 20 Years In Slammeramma For Sara Jane Olson
Posted on 01/18/2002 10:56:44 AM PST by MindBender26
LOS ANGELES (AP) Former Symbionese Liberation Army fugitive Sara Jane Olson was sentenced today to 20 years to life in prison for conspiring to blow up police cars in 1975.
Following tearful statements from family and friends, Olson said she was "truly sorry" for causing anyone any pain. But she denied trying to murder officers by planting bombs under the two Los Angeles police cars to avenge the deaths of six SLA members during a shootout with authorities in 1974. The bombs didn't explode.
Superior Court Judge Larry Fidler sentenced Olson to two consecutive terms of 10 years to life.

Hmmm. Perhaps paying for the cost of a whole new fleet of police vehicles for LAPD would be more palatable in exchange for staying in a minimum-security place.

Her brain should be in juvy, her body in prision.
Those flakes...all in a state of perpetual adolescence.

You know she deserves every minute. She had no remorse. She is sorry she caused "pain",,this woman tried to cause murder, participated in a bank robbery where murder was committed and she thinks all she caused was PAIN

Not having followed a lot of the details of this story, I can't remember the status of her family. Was her husband aware of her real past? If so, he ought to be in jail too. If not, how sad for him.
Either way it is sad for the children. Can you imagine finding out that your mother is and has always been a fake? A criminal?
That said, I hope they convict her at the upcoming murder trial too.

The bombs didn't explode. Yeah, she's truly sorry THAT SHE GOT CAUGHT! She denied trying to kill the police officers? What did she think those bombs would do if they DID explode? She put them there with every INTENTION of their going off and killing the officers, otherwise, why would she have gone to the trouble!

Just a thought about a deal, since she also conspired (at least) in the planting of bombs under police cars. Before you think she's getting off lightly, L.A. is a BIG city. I betcha the L.A.P.D. has THOUSANDS of police vehicles. She could be paying a hundred million dollars! Come to think of it, servicing a dyke may not be so bad compared to that!

AllRIGHT!! Justice is done.
P.S. Maybe lying to the Judge wasn't the best defense strategy?

From the Junior League to the Slammer Queen! Sounds like justice to me!

Justice is served.
Note to self: if you commit a horrid crime, hide for twenty years and try to be a better citizen, your past will STILL catch up with you. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

They can put all of these hand-wringers who supported her back in Minnesota in the klink also. The arrogance of this vicious b*tch is just appalling. I hope that prison life treats her well. NOT!!

This was pointed out by the prosecution pointed out that, among other things, she was guilty of voter fraud. Therefore, I purpose that every election in Minnesota, and her voting district be reviewed. If any one race was decided by one vote, they would be nullified and a new election scheduled. You know she's a lefty RAT and she voted that way.

This is the least of what Kathleen Soliah faces. There are possible death penalty charges stemming from that robbery up in Sacramento where a mother was murdered during the bank heist, You know Myrna Opsahl. Sorry it looks like this child-woman terrorist's troubles are only beginning not far from over. Still justice is sweet.

What terrible luck for her :)
Prior to 9-11 she would have gotten 5 years tops. Her adventures with the SLA were considered the madcap escapades of a youthful college student.

Not True! Their mother has not always been a fake, she has been their real mother.
Now finding out she is a killer, that's a problem.

I brought this up on another thread; there is a miniseries in the works as we speak. I'm thinking A(Anti-American) BS, and C(Communist)BC. I proposed Merle Streep, or Julia Roberts as Sara Jane/Kathy Solias, or maybe Babs S. would come out of retirement to play the role.
