Washington, Jan. 16 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush urged Latin America in a speech today not to abandon the principles of free trade after Argentina's financial collapse.
Bush said he'll work toward establishing a free-trade agreement with Central America. ``Our purpose is to strengthen the economic ties we already have with these nations, and to take another step toward completing the Free Trade of the Americas,'' he said.

Yesterday Bush wrapped up a two-day swing through Illinois, Missouri and Louisiana to press for so-called trade promotion authority, which would allow him to close trade agreements without congressional amendments.
What type of morons do we have in the congress to give the president this much power? No president democrat or republican should be allowed to have that ability!
