"...well, then the investors deserve what they got."

O'Reilly appeals to victim mentalities. Sounds like he might appeal to you.

People who take responsibility for themselves and do their own homework, subscribe to this axiom: "Let the buyer beware".

Lazy, emotion-driven, mentalities, who don't do their homework and then get burned, are always looking for someone to blame other than themselves.

Today's society is FULL of such feminized males and airhead females.

Although I have a Bose CD-Radio, I have not been able to find Hannity's show on the dial. Other than his substituting for Rush, I have not heard his radio deliveries. I stopped watching the Hannity-Colmes TV show because I couldn't bear the shouting. Brit Hume and Rush (most of the time) are the only ones I can stand to hear nowadays. I'm reading more and listening to music to keep my sanity.

I'm basing my opinion of Hannity on his Fox show only, since I too can not get the radio show. Maybe it's not his fault that he seems like a parrot saying the same talking points over and over again. It could be a problem with the format.

I agree with you about Cavuto's program and his essays. He rearely gets nasty and when he does, there is good reason for his terse words.

I scanned O'R's book and found it lacking as well. Glad I did not spend any money on it.

Would this be the same O'Reilly who swore (SWORE) in a Drudge interview the Sunday after Thanksgiving that there was absolutely no truth whatsoever to rumors he was planning a talk show opposite Rush?
"Not to my knowledge," were his exact words.

Lets face it, Rush Limbaugh hasn't been himself since the on set of his acute hearing loss. This is a serious problem for Rush. It has developed into a life long struggle that wil have a continued and direct impact on the future of his radio show. But not being a 100% and somewhat off his broadcast standards, doesn't mean that Rush is easy prey for anyone in the world of talk-radio. I think Rush Limbaugh, at 90% to 95% of his natural ability, can withstand any opposition and that includes a new talk show, from that popular centrist, "Mr.Ratings Mouth" himself, Bill O'Reilly. If Rush's cochlear implant works out for him, then don't look for Rush to retire anytime soon.

O'Reilly's a vulture, waiting in the wings to bounce on Rush. Right now, O'Reilly thinks he is bullet proof and he may be. But it's a big mistake for someone like O'Reilly to think his brand of tantrum jounalism can keep him at the top, forever. Eventually, the bigger O'Reilly's head gets, the bigger his ego expands, the louder his mouth yells, the more people will see him for the ratings slut he really is. I could be wrong, but I believe at some point, O'Reilly will be forced to turn down his bull horn broadcasts.

BTW, I still listen to Limbaugh and watch O'Reilly, just not as much as before.

I believe Grant is still #1 in his time slot here, or at worst a very close second. Try to follow: I don't want to substitute an hour of O'Reilly for Grant. It's only my opinion.

Listening to Rush now.....he keeps making comments about needing an extra hour.....guess he'll be selling some extra time on his pay to listen web site. He has spent nearly an hour babbling on and on and on about the MSNBC ad for Alan Keyes. He is making no sense at all.

He then went on to babble about some doctors charging more for extra service, never did mention what that extra service would be but that didn't stop him from rambling.

Can't complain that he enjoys the sound of his voice but he needs someone to keep him focused on a few topics rather than ramble ramble.

Have you tried watching airport radar? I think you might like that.

It might be more enlightening that what we are offered.

Re your # 57...Yes, Britt Hume is a good one, is not as popular as the O'Reilly one...But for God sake: he never smiles! Nonetheless, you made a good selection here.....

Alternately, C-Span is great on history, in my view, with not much else to crow about.

Have a nice evening.

"These bums cooked the books.

The Clintons and that administration cooked the economic books of government for eight years...no one can unravel or find missing millions, some say in the billons of dollars, lost, stolen and unaccounted for.

Enron is part of that era and were given a green light from the White House to move ahead with their blessing...as long as there was something in it for 'ol Bill and Hill.

Sean is an Irish lad to be proud of who is right 90% of the time and takes positions based on principles. O'Reilly is a loud mouthed Irishman who spends his life straddling the fence and battling hemmorhoids because of it.

I'll take Sean any day.

What "situation" Bill? Has or has not Rush been pounding the whole "competition" and "free market" think for about a decade now?

It would be incredibly hypocritical for any conservative to gripe at Mr. O for jumping into the talk radio business because he will "hurt poor Rush"

On second thought.. It's beyond hypocritical and borders on the absurd.

Also, Mr. O is going to fail in this venture.

He's a populist (and one I like and agree with very frequently) with no ideology to guide him.

He won't be Conservative enough for the conservatives and he will be completely unsatisfactory to the Liberals.

He will wind up guiding the mushy middle for a while till they find soemthing better to do and leave him high and dry.

This thankfully, is not as complicated. Seems to be plenty of evidence for a grand jury. The threat of twenty years and losing everything but the shirt you walk out of prison with does wonders to encourage cooperation from bums like Lay.

Oh, I didn't see that one coming! I almost had a Danny Thomas Spit Take moment. (grin)

Okay, weighing in here. As an old radio head, I agree with the previous post regarding the "truthifying" effect that radio has on hosts and guests. I haven't lived in WOR range in about 20 years, so haven't heard O'R's fill in stints. But I wonder if the level of heat that O'R generates will translate well on radio - the amount of attention that the visuals take on TV will be gone, and all that noise may overwhelm. (IMO, one of the problems with Savage is that his heat level is cranked way up, and totally overwhelms anything he's got to say.)

I'd be interested to see how well O'R listens to callers, or whether he uses the call as a springboard for his own opinion and then leaves the call in Mute Purgatory.

Hannity is fun to listen to; he engages the people who call in and gives the people who listen something to listen to.

Totally agree. I can't wait for the streaming to return so I can listen real time again. I am particularly impressed with him when he holds a caller over the top of the hour when they disagree ... just so the caller can get their point out. I still remember a Man on the Street conversation where he convinced a Gore voter (before the election) to vote for Bush based on the conservative principles. I really respect Sean.
