I suspect "Enrongate" will soon be relegated to the Business Section as executives from both the company and its auditors are brought to justice. It started dying today as a scandal magnet on MTP. Prosector Timmy tried hard to link the Bush administration by innuendo, but shut his trap when Evans mentioned that GE and Bechtel were big investors in Enron's India venture.

Can you just IMAGINE listening to LIEberman's whiney voice and looking at his accordion-pleated shrivled-up puss day after day? Well, if the jackass actually runs, that's what we're gonna get. Probably get it anyway, what with the Enron BS cooking. Brr-r-r-r. Thank gawd for FR.

It seems the newest 'rat line is that campaign contributions should be put into a fund the help the Enron employee's.

Hume/Dingle exchange: "It was classic!" YES!!!!!!!!!! Brit also kept at him to say whether his committee would call Rubin to testify. Rubin had intervened for Enron. Dingle hemmed and hawwwed.......his committee he said would call "everyone" to get at the truth.....Brit replied "Then that is a 'yes'?" Finally, Dingle said yes. I so love Brit Hume's persistence in his questioning/nailing these people!

".........also threatening!!!!!!!!! Did anyone catch the not-so-thinly-veiled threats about Bush's Interim Appointments"
---The threat wasn't veiled.
To: guitfiddlist
Dingellberry said that since Cheney was in discussions with Enron over deregulation, he would investigate. Then Hume nailed Dingell when he asked if Enron had ever contacted him. Of course, he was contacted. Unless Dingell is a hypocrite (laugh) I guess he has to investigate himself!

It seems to me a lot of this would be defused if the executives who took that huge bonus and stock options would form a fund to help out a bit. It would also protect them from lawsuits to a certain extent, plus I do think that they bear some moral responsibility for the 401K mess, if not a legal one.
To: DoctorMichael
I did. Biden: This administration was warned that if they did interim appointments, ALL THE REST OF THE APPOINTMENTS would be held up. What kind of a threat is that? The Rats are already doing it. Biden was repulsive, but methinks he forgets the popularity of the President. Whenever the RATS stand in his way, the American people will perceive it just that way. President Bush is trying to get things done, the RATS are obstructionists!

Good morning. Interesting that Kristol surfaced this morning.
I hope that Biden is hoist on his own petard. He is an arrogant idiot.
To: PogySailor
Re "newest 'rat line"........71 of the 100 senators received donations from Enron so they've GOT to sound magnanimous.
To: A Citizen Reporter
The Scalia appointment hearing in the Senate was a joke. The democrats were attacking him on ergonomics - knowing that ergonomics legislation failed in a Senate vote.

Head ups to post #46!

Juan Williams is practically working off the DNC talking points this morning.
To: PogySailor
Yes, but Brit Hume just laid out Juan Williams on the Washingon Redskins name issue. "I'm of Scottish descent and the Boston "Celtics" offends me. And I want reparations too"! Go Brit Go!!
To: Miss Marple; YaYa123
"Interesting that Kristol surfaced this morning." Yes, indeed....it sure is.
YaYa, I'm curious, I heard Kristol first announce LIEberman's 'MAJOR foreign policy address' last Friday night on Fox News. At that time, Kristol said that someone had "smuggled" a copy of Lieberman's speech to him. I wonder if he changed his language today?
To: Alas Babylon!
Two favorite lines from today's FNS panel:
Fred: "Juan, you know perfectly well they [Senate Democrats] want to roll back that tax cut. They hate tax cuts."
and,
Brit: "I am of Scottish descent and I am deeply offended by the name 'Boston Celtics,' and I want apologies and reparations."
To: Wait4Truth
but I keep wondering if we are not going to see a possible Lieberman/McCain ticket for 2004.You're not alone, I had the same thought last week when I saw them on MTP. And when I saw them in Afghanistan, I thought they looked like they were campaigning.
To: DoctorMichael
Yeah, Biden. Sounded like he has laryngitis ... I was hoping that all of a sudden he would be struck dumb. Now that's a thought ... dumb and dumber!
