Reports are that Clinton was photographed on a golfing date with Ken Lay. Lay and Enron were also big supporters of Anne Richards, GWB's predecessor as Texas Gov. and were big supporters of (name escapes me), a liberal Texas congresswoman. Chuck Shumer, Dem.Sen. of NY got $23,000 from Lay and Enron. The Repubs. got more money, but so far, it looks like the Dems. "hoed" out more for what they got.

I think the TX congresswoman may have been Sheila Jackson Lee (D) from the Houston area I think. MSNBC said last night that she received 7 times as much money as Armey.

Seems to me I have read some place within the past couple of days that Ken Bentsen, Dem congressman from Houston and Lloyd Bentsen's son, has been a big recipient of Enron money. If Ken Bentsen has been so connected, Lloyd Bentsen's possible connections with Enron deserve investigation, I think.

"Lay and Enron were also big supporters of Anne Richards, GWB's predecessor as Texas Gov." In that short press conference the other day when President Bush first answered some of the reporters questions about Lay and Enron, I heard him say something to the effect that the first time he met Lay was in the early 90's (1992, I think he said) at some sort of political event and at that time "Lay was supporting Ann Richards for Governor", against him. It wouldn't be hard to find the exact quote.

Please elaborate. I'm not much of a farmer.

(name escapes me), a liberal Texas congresswoman.Cynthia McKinley. She's also the one who, after Guliani refused the donation from the obnoxious Saudi Prince, contacted the prince and said she would gladly take the money. I saw posted elsewhere that she received about $33,000 from Enron.

The Enron story is going to backfire against the Dems. I can't wait. It will only show that the Bush Administration followed the ethical path every step of the way. There is not a scintilla of evidence that any favors were done.
