If you are not familiar with the term, "Postal" dosen't mean shooting up a post office. It is a means for shooters in different parts of the country to compete against each other in a contest of marksmanship.
Shooters are mailed numbered targets which they shoot, at agreed upon distances, times and calibers. The targets are returned via the mail (hence "postal") and scored. Obviously, the honor system comes into play here.
I think it would be interesting to do amongst ourselves. Any takers?
Seems to be. I have only looked at the first target (counted 6), noted it had a hand written number in the corner, and reviewed the instruction sheet.
What is really odd it that fellow freeper and postal shooter M1911 lives only five miles from me, is in the same zip code, and as of yesterday still had not received his targets. Have you gotten any freep mail from others indicating they got theirs?
If it warms up some, M1911 and I plan to do some shooting this weekend. We will try to hit a metal trashcan lid at 25 yards, which is about the size of the targets. Once we get consistant at that we will shoot for keeps. Digital photos will be posted.
I've got a very old 1911 colt, and a Blackhawk convertable .45LC/.45ACP. I also have the option of shooting my wifes S&W model 60, which has the sweetest trigger I have ever touched. Im gonna have to borrow a .22 pistol from a friend or realitive, unless I use this event as an excuse to buy one, which I may very well do.

FYI - Ignore the deadline on the instructions - I will set a new date as soon as I am sure all have received their targets.

TWO WEEKS and the post office has delivered 4 out of 13 packages.
And people want the government involved in running healthcare.
The only concern I have is that the person I wanted to take pictures and watch me is going into the hospital this weekend for some serious work on his heart. I might lose him as a shooting partner or worse, I will never see him again. By the way I went to a carnival to shoot the star out and failed miserably. Now excuse but on the third try, I had only two small places where the star would have fallen out if I hit them one more time. I noticed that the paper suddenly cut across the star in a suspicious manner like the paper had a shallow slice in it but I looked later and that wasn't the case. It was enough to make me a little tense though. I should have slowed down and did what I always do. Hit the trigger hard enough where only 3 BB's come out and I wasn't doing that. Sometimes five would spray all over the place. I goofed.
Put me on the list.

Hope to shoot this weekend
Hope to hit ... well that's another matter. Lets just say some of my targets may be able to be used again.
