There is no way 11 warheads could take out 25% of the Canadian population. Yet another study by the fear mongering MAD adherants. Their goal is not to prevent the Western civilized nations from getting nuked. Their goal is to prevent Western nations from ever using nukes on anyone else. So long as we are "afraid" of "the end of the world" in the event that we ever use any nukes again, then we never will think about it. MAD is being used against us, to tie our hands and to keep the US from engaging in any great powers conflicts. The only question, was Carl Sagan only a useful idiot, or did he have "friends" who want to destroy the USA when the time is ripe?

I completely agree! Sagan was very good in his field of astrophysics, but he fell down badly with the nuclear winter scenario. After factoring in the ocean effects, the nuclear winter kinda dropped into obscurity.

Don't get me wrong though. I appeared on a TLC program that also featured Carl Sagan. I had a great respect for him personally, especially his ability to get difficult concepts across to the layman.

"There is no way 11 warheads could take out 25% of the Canadian population."

If you're looking for straight kills, maybe even less than eleven...just the greater Toronto area alone has nearly 20% of the Canadian population.

Totally off-topic question: Why take some of the richest farmland on the planet and put your biggest city there? Gotta love our crack planning departments up here...or is that planning departments on crack?
