Some history with which you may not be familiar. From an Israeli source (http://www.us-israel.org/jsource/vie/Telaviv.html) so maybe you won't believe it either.

"Tel Aviv is the first all-Jewish city in modern times. Originally named Ahuzat Bayit, it was founded by 60 families in 1909 as a Jewish neighborhood near Jaffa. In 1910, the name was changed to Tel Aviv, meaning "hill of spring." The name was taken from Ezekiel 3:15, "...and I came to the exiles at Tel Aviv," and from a reference in Herzl's novel Altneuland, in which he foresaw the future Jewish state as a socialist utopia. Most Jews were expelled from Jaffa and Tel Aviv by the Turks during World War I, but returned after the war when Britain received the mandate for Palestine.

The population of Tel Aviv gradually swelled, particularly as Jews were stimulated to leave predominantly Arab Jaffa by unrest in the 1920's. Arab forces in Jaffa shelled Tel Aviv in 1948 prior to the beginning of the actual war. Jewish forces responded by capturing the city two days before declaring independence. The declaration was made in the home of the city's mayor Meir Dizengoff."

My point here people is that no one owns the earth, it should be the right of everyone to roam this planet where and when they please. And I believe that is what G-d really wants of us, not petty squabbling over who owns what piece of land.

Sorry, but nothing there that could educate me. If I really wanted to educate myself further on the middle east crisis, I'd go to the library, or do a course on ancient races of the middle east, at university. Not read someones personal views of the situation on FR, there are far more reputable sources of information than FR. Fortunately for myself, I don't always believe the propaganda that is put out on a lot of forums of this type.

I already did check your profile, denny. That's why I was surprised that you quoted Mt 5:39 instead of Lk 22:36. To find out what kind of "pacifist" Jesus was, I direct you to Mt 21:12. Sounds more like a bouncer than a pacifist to me. As for meekly submitting when struck, Jesus doesn't look so meek to me in Jn 18:23. Looks like he got in the officer's face about it.

yea, well my mother always tried to instill the "turn the other cheek" philosophy in me when I was younger, it was the most common bible quote she used, so probably the only one I know. On the other hand my Fathers philosophy was "an eye for an eye", but he'd never read the bible, and I'd never heard the quote until I went to school.
