I will do Valentine's day just like all the other packages. Send as soon as you can, they take a long time to get to the ship, so it doesn't matter. I will go out and see if I can get some good deals on more hygiene products and Valentine's M&Ms.

Isn't this just the best letter. Now I will sleep easy knowing our stuff got there. I will write this sailor and see if I can just send the boxes straight to her instead of the Read Admiral. I bet distribution will go smoother if I don't send it to the top guy.

They will love your knit caps. It's cold out there on that ship.

I was kind of worried about the knit caps and if they would be used, but I inherited a big bag of yarn, and that is what I am making them from. I'll redouble my efforts this week.

Here is one of the messages they put on a bomb, just last Sat. We still are doing heavy bombing so yes, our stickers would be a good idea.

U.S. Navy airmen Turner Garretson, from State College, Penn., left, and Nathaniel Hayden, from Charlotte, N.C., stand next to a bomb they loaded bearing a message for Osama bin Laden, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, on a jet fighter sitting on the deck of the USS Theodore Roosevelt in the Arabian Sea. The Roosevelt is operating in support of the military campaign in Afghanistan. (AP Photo/J. Pat Carter/POOL) - Jan 05 8:51 AM ET

If I may ask a couple of simple questions...

What are you telling these companies in order for them to ship you merchandise for the troops? Do you do it as an individual or are you using the name of an organization with a non-profit ID#? Do you issue a receipt for contributions for their tax records? How do you decide who you're going to call for contributions? Any help would be greatly appreciatied.
