You insult me, EV.
Give me a little credit. Do you really think I'm stupid? Do you really think I've never seen or heard Alan Keyes, and that I'm just relying on other people's opinions to form my own? Do you think I did not watch the presidential debates? Do you think I did not see Alan Keyes peck and scratch at George W. Bush after the "Jesus" question? Do you think I don't watch Hannity and Colmes? Do you think I haven't seen his vindictive post-debate interviews? Do you think I missed his "Massah" performance? Do you think I missed it when he played the race card to the media? Do you think I do not know about his reference to George W. Bush and "evil" as it relates to the stem cell decision? Do you really need me to hold your hand, search the 'net, and give you precise quotes complete with dates, times, and other details to prove to you, clearly a Keyes lover, that I have any idea why I feel this way? Or is that I'm a female - and that gives you some right to suggest that I couldn't possibly believe what I say I do, and if I do, I haven't come to this conclusion thoughtfully or with enough data for my opinion to be legitimate?
Like I said, you insult me, EV.
This whole thing is dysfunctional and bizarre. I must tell you I do not appreciate being spoken to as though I am a child because I don't agree with you. Please, EV, wake up. I am not wrong, stupid, naive - or any number of other things you have so gently suggested - just because I think the man you follow so devotedly is a [insert your word for the lower posterior quarters of the animal of your choice here]. He is. And I think he is teaching his followers well.
Sorry I won't drink the Kool Aid, EV. I don't like the way it smells. I gotta put you on auto-ignore, buddy, because I won't spend my time debating with someone who doesn't respect me more than this. Good luck to you, and may the Lord bless, keep, and guide you.
So can anyone criticize George Bush without being considered all of those things you listed?
God knows someone had better be critical...power without accountability is a very dangerous thing.
In your view, obviously, the rank and file of the GOP should just shut their mouths and take whatever the party hacks in D.C. dish out...even if it is a gross violation of the platform, and of conservative principle.
No one is above criticism...especially the most powerful man in the world. God help us when he is.
Did you read today about the 'leader' of Zimbabwe?---he just passed laws making it illegal to critize him or his office. You can count on the fact that that country will soon be soaked in blood.
The people who harshly attempt to crush criticism of the President think they are doing him a service, when nothing could be further from the truth. These harsh attacks chill debate, and cause much constructive criticism to never see the light of day...until finally, tactical mistakes are made, and our REAL enemies are given the opportunity to politically kill our leadership.
You can accept what I'm saying, or reject it, (as I expect you will)...but that is how the real world works over the long haul.
One more thing. You can dispense with the disingenuous 'God blesses' and such...your tittering little posts with Southflanknorthpawsis concerning this did not set too well with me...they made the fairly nice parting we had last night seem totally phoney on your part...just when I was starting to think you might be a person who could get past the childish game being played by those you have chosen to join yourself to here.
I see you learned your lessons well from Dannyboy...
By the way, what ever happened to him anyway? He must have tired of defending the indefensible.
God bless you, too, Daughter, and a delightful 50 degree Florida evening to everyone!
Don't you think?
Dan
