Former presidential candidate and one-time Reagan administration U.N. ambassador Alan Keyes may soon get his own cable TV show, reports the New York Post's Page Six.
MSNBC is said to be discussing a possible slot for Keyes opposite Greta Van Susteren, who just bolted CNN to fill Paula Zahn's old shoes in Fox News Channel's "The Edge" time slot.
Keyes could certainly put MSNBC back on the cable news radar screen - attracting disaffected FNC viewers who resent the left-leaning histories of recent Fox hires like Van Susteren and Geraldo Rivera.
Those who recall his presidential debate performances, where Keyes easily bested both GOP'ers John McCain and George Bush, would also be attracted by the prospect of more of the same eloquence from the undiluted conservative.
And unlike many less principled politicans, Keyes never shied away from a controversial fight.
He stood alone among prominent conservatives, for instance, in calling for an investigation into Ron Brown's death after NewsMax.com's Christopher Ruddy revealed the Clinton cabinet member had been denied an autopsy despite x-rays and photographs showing a suspicious head wound.

This is great news! I love listening to Keys. Too bad I'll probably be working when he is on.

This would be one show I WOULD watch with some regularity.
All the others: O'Reilly, Hannity, whatever are boring and moronic enough to appeal to what the media assumes is 'the stupid majority'. I hope the media is wrong and Keys would win the audience.

Keyes ran a live broadcast of his radio show before. He's good and will run circles around Gretta's ratings. Fox was stupid for picking Gretta. Paula was disgusting but this one is over the max of reason.

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO ME & MY IMMENSE BRAINPOWER This could be the name of any talk show host's program. They're all egomaniacs. At least Keyes has the actual brainpower and education to back it up.

CNBC has a new show, " America Now " with Larry Kudlow and Jim Cramer
it's not to bad. I've always thought Kudlow was pretty sharp and Cramer is
a decent democrat and calls a spade a spade.

Hello Cal,
Any truth to this rumour? I saw a rebroadcast of the Keyes-Dirshnowits debate on religion a few days ago on C-SPAN and Dr. Keyes was awesome! He kicked the old coot's rear. Too bad I didn't have the foresight to tape it. Oh well, I hope I can look forward to this TV show.
