Can we or can we not roll up in a huge truck and use hydraulics to force a .5" steel blade 8' into the ground?

Thanks for the info, it kind of looks like the game us Yanks call LaCrosse, but I've never been much into sports, so I'm walking on a shaky foundation, here.

LaCrosse is for girls!

This is full on combat!!! Wooooooo-hoooooooo!

BTW, a sliothar in the air going at 60 mph can kill a man. And most of those guys go out without helmets.

And the best bit. It's an amateur sport. They do it, not because they are being paid, because the LOVE it. It is their passion.

I'm telling you. I know men, who would sell their soul to the divil for an All-Ireland hurling medal. And not think twice of the consequences!

Cool, not something I would (or could) do, but they get a giant A+ for giving it their all.

Never got lucky enough to meet an Irish Lass in Boston. AND there in lies the difference between Boston and Eire. The women in Boston are way to prim and proper to drink and speak with (shudder) men. The guys however are boisterous and friendly and love to party. the New York girls come up and party with the guys ... the Boston girls want nothing to do with it. I wonder how they keep the population up.

People (well, liberals, anyway) bitch about that Puritan ethic controlling New England. It seems to me like New England is suffocating under the boot of left-wing anti-humanism.

You have to ram it down 8' and sever a clay or PVC sewer line.. in a very short period of time..

It's never a good idea to do this sort of thing in a short period of time. If you hit a gas line or underground electrical line, your life will suck. Aside from getting hurt, you're responsible for the damages if you didn't call Blue Stakes first (or whatever it is in your state; they're the people who run TV ads that say, "Call before you dig!").

I know of a company that dug without calling Blue Stakes and cut a fiber-optic phone line. They were fined $80,000 per day that it was down and had to pay all costs for the phone company to come out and fix it. They also got sued by various companies that used the fiber-optic comm line for their downtime costs. The company wound up going bankrupt.

What I'm telling you is: be really careful. You could wind up making a very dangerous and/or expensive mistake.

Electricians drive 8' x .5" copper clad ground rods in the ground near the meter base daily.

Boring contractors bore hundreds of feet under anything these days for with a 1-1/4 (+/-)rod and aim it as well.
