Government scientists planted samples of lynx hairs in a third national forest, according to documents obtained by The Washington Times.

"A preliminary investigation by the U.S. Forest Service said planted samples were submitted from the Mount Baker/Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington state, but the report did not say how many additional samples were submitted from that region.

Every morning, I get some exercise by walking a few blocks for the daily papers. On side street, I used to hear this REALLY LOUD banging sounds echoing through the morning air... So, I walked a bit out of my way and on top of a metal street lamp, a woodpecker was standing with his feet braced against the metal, and then BANGBANGBANGing his head against the round metal cover of the lamp.

During certain times of the year -- now for instance -- the bird is out there almost every morning. I have no idea what the bird is accomplishing -- or thinks he's accomplishing -- but this animal _seems_ like a candidate for the bird version of the Darwin Awards...

--I've been here since last spring, and have a few thousand posts and replies since then, even though the official count doesn't represent that anymore. Something happened to a lot of them back a few software rebuilds ago it appears. and I'm PROUD to get tinfoil alerts from partisan cheerleaders who put their political party over national security and the constitution.
