No, you've misunderstood. "Alliterative" does not mean endorsement. It means that word after word in a sentence starts with the same letter or sound.

I was pointing out that an acclaimed "writer" in the form of Gore Vidal clearly didn't understand that concept. In other words, I was using Gore Vidal's own words to illustrate that he's a lousy writer who doesn't even understand the basic concepts of composition.

It is interesting to note that Vidal
who has lived in Italy off and on since 1948
and has a villa there
near Amalfi
does not speak Italian.

A Italian friend of mine
who saw him interviewed on Italian TV
says the interview was conducted in English
and translated into Italian
for the audience.

re. "Alliterative"

Forgive me, I was responding to what Sen. Gore said, not to what you were saying about Vidal. I completely forgot about the original article...

As to the comment itself, Sen. Gore was endorsing Bryan with it. A very weak endorsement, one that insults the opponent more than upholds the candidate. Sound familiar of late?
