Why would pro-legalizers post articles which claim that legalization will increase drug addiction? That's stupid.

After you get done finding one of those articles, maybe you'll answer this question:

Why was non-alcoholic drug addiction not as much of a social problem in the 19th Century when America was a more libertarian nation and hadn't outlawed such drugs as opium, morphine, cocaine and marijuana? Might factors other than legalization be responsible for the abuse of drugs?

They liked the fact that the articles suggested drug legalization and the fact that they pointed to the growth of drug addicts were very secondary issues.
