David I don't discount the Constitution. I think it is the foundation of our law.

There has been additional law created because there was a need. I think the courts upheld the Congressional laws regarding illegal drug laws. The ACLU who wants to destroy America would have been trying to champion the challenge in court against the Feds to undermine this country if they could. I'm sure they tried and failed.

I am very conservative by the way. I would be to the right of Reagan in all likelyhood David.

The official position of the ACLU: "The ACLU has opposed the outright criminalization of drugs since 1968, believing that the best way to deal with drugs is regulation, not incarceration."

I don't know what motivates the ACLU, but I have not heard of them coming to the aid of people busted for drugs. I am afraid they would be overwhelmed if they tried, but I don't think that is the reason. They are obviously not a very effective group on this subject.

So you don't DISCOUNT the Constitution. That's mighty big of you. However, any "additional law" created MUST CONFORM TO the limits of power granted to government BY the Constitution. It's that simple. The Constitution does NOT say that whatever the Federal Government wants to do is OK. It says: (Amendment X)

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. "

And there is NOTHING in the Constitution providing for government to make war on its own people. Got it yet? It's not about using drugs; it's about violating the SUPREME law of the land and that MUST STOP!
