She also wants to bring home the message that Planned Parenthood is "more than you think."...SNIP...."A lot of people hear Planned Parenthood and think of that old political debate," said Siegel, referring to abortion. "The ongoing challenge is to get the marketing out there."

If you'll notice, in my post #39, under the excerpted post number 101 from that older thread, I kinda lost my temper too. Been there, done that, so I can identify with your own outburst.

Good posts. Thanks. Truth shall porevail.

Welcome born-yesterday Brucey,
Your tired tactic is apparent to us all.
1. The Catholic Church (the most pro-life entity in the world) provides more humanitarian assistance than any other private entity. It goes to babies, refugees, druggies, AIDS patients, the homeless, etc. Please don't post non-sense when the facts are so clucking obvious.
2. There are many many funerals for stillborn or miscarried babies- and there should be more. Just because you have not seen them does not mean they don't happen. These are generally private affairs. Also, ask a priest how many times he gets asked to baptize or give last rites to babies who never make out of the delivery room alive. It happens all the time.
3. I AAAALWAYS bring up the racism of abortion and its proponents. As do most others who rail against the evil, mis-named purveyors of death known as planned parenthood.
If you really are just ill-infomred (hard to believe) then I apologize for any sarcasm.

Sometimes when I read certain posters every button gets pushed the wrong way. Perhaps a meditation in patience would help us. ;)

This is a project I helped found. Most of the women who we help have been low-income and non-white. The angels (volunteers) form longlasting realtionships with these families. This is EXTREMELY typical of pro-life Catholic outreach. You seem to forget that those of us praying in front of the death camps (planned parenthood) are not getting anything in return for doing so - we do it out of true love and that love could not possibily end at a baby's birth. But what more could you give to a child (or hismother) than his very life? You need to get out more and stop buying the crap you see int he paper or the the tv about pro-lifers. The one-in-a-million wackos make the headlines.
The rest of us spend most of our time loving other people - which rarely gets covered. Grabriel Project Home

Help comes in the form of a Gabriel Angel who supports the mothers choice for life through prayer, ongoing friendship and encouragement, and referrals to community/government resources. Mothers voluntarily requesting a Gabriel Angel are referred from local Christian crisis pregnancy programs, birth line programs, and maternity homes; community/governmental agencies and The Gabriel Projects hotlines in English (877-734-2444) and Spanish (800-7200-4570). BECOME A GABRIEL ANGEL As a Gabriel Angel you will bring hope, comfort, and friendship to a woman in your community during her pregnancy. Your support witnesses to the value of both the unborn child and the mother who chooses life for her child. Thanks for fixing the typo. Your answer to my second question is profound. The death of any baby, whether deliberate or not, is deeply painful. The "politically pro-life" movement has rarely, if ever, publicly mourned a baby who was not aborted; that's hypocritical and mean-spirited. The politically pro-life movement never takes public stands against the death penalty, war, etc., yet makes very public attacks on women who make tough personal decisions. While there may be pro-life individuals doing good, their organizations do not. When I see pro-life organizations recovering land mines, protesting war and the death penalty, I will take their concern with life seriously. ps: I would need to use a search engine to locate a minority-friendly thread around here.

1. It used to be VD, then it morphed to STD, not STI. How cute. Typical liberal carp - image is everything, substance is unimportant.
2. The "Choice on Earth" thing should be its own FR thread. Go ahead, start it!! Title:
Feminazis: "Choice on Earth" to you and yours this holiday season. (Love, Planned Parenthood)

I wonder if PP will become the NEA's choice as school-based health clinics all run by Planned Parenthood. It makes sense, especially reading/hearing what is taught in a govt. school.

The best way to do this was to get them a prescription for birth control pills, which they always forgot to take. This was always my contention with people I've had disagreements with concerning sex ed and dispensing birth control pills to teenagers. Let's face it, teenage girls are dingbats for the most part. I was and most of my friends were. Irresponsibility is the norm. I knew that Planned Parenthood knew it, too, and they were merely setting girls up as future abortion clients. Disgusting! Cold comfort in this vindication.

I would be more impressed by seeing pro-life protests against the bombing of innocent children in the middle east. Why is an american unwanted drug addict's fetus more precious than a 4 year old afghan child?

You are just out of touch with your culture, dude.
Ask anyone on the street to name the loudest, most active and premiere pro-life organization and they will tell you its the Catholic Church.
The Church is loudly and actively pro-life across the board: euthanasia, abortion, death penalty, exploitation of poor nations by industrialized nations, military agreesion, state violence, terrorism, and massive weaponry are all decried actively and loudly by the Church. And the CHurch is very political about these issues. Very political. While candidates are not endorsed, issues and policies certainly are.
Where have you been? Do you even have a web browser?

How many parents here are aware of the "minor consent laws" (may have a different title in your state) that have been passed in the last decade in most states. Planned Parenthood is behind these laws, they are the ones who lobbied for them. In my state of Maine (and many others) the "minor consent law" says that any "minor" may obtain free medical and psychological services for pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases, drug, psychological and abortion counseling without parental knowledge or consent.
These laws were put into place just in time to make sure that the "school based clinics" would have access to kids. Even though parents must sign for their kids to use clinic services, most parents are not aware of the "minor consent law". And were all footing the bill.

Me? I'm too prideful to sit here and listen to this BS, so I bragged. Thanks, Doc. As someone recently told me, sometimes you just have to say what has to be said and let G-d take care of the rest.
Happy New Year if I don't "see" you before then.
Shalom.

PP offices are in fancy buildings with well paid staff. Crisis pregnancy centers are generally in the low rent district with volunteer staff. People give their own time and money to help, while PP takes our tax money to kill.
Well said.

I was kidding about the Abortions for some attitude. If I had my way, I don't think Abortions would be necessary as a form of birth control. If anything, they should be used only if a woman is raped, or if it will be detrimental to her health to carry a child to term. Even with those circumstances, other allowances should be made. We do agree on a lot of things, however if the only way to rid the world of idiocy is through eugenics, then so be it. So long as it doesn't destroy individuality, creativity, ingenuity, and the ability to be anything that the person wants.
With the liberal agenda, we're seeing a new conformity that is on the brink of being like an assembly line in an automotive plant. Kids with the same shoes, clothes, hair, body type, and attitudes. It's sad that every child is now becoming just like everyone else. A playstation and a computer in every home, the same kind of food, the same TV's, the same everything. That is unless you come from a wealthy family. Of course I'm rambling again...
There should be a massive campaign to stigmatize those in the abortion industry, and those who would seek their services. There should also be a massive campaign to keep children and stupid adults from having children that they can't or won't take care of. That will get rid of the abortion problem. Complaining about abortion is only treating a symptom of a sick society. A massive purge of the disposable children mentality is what is needed.
