Ahhh...another genius shows up to give us Freepers a history lesson.
First, you ignoramus, terrorist as a term did not exist then. Second, the Patriots were in no way terrorists as defined currently; they did not target civilians, but rather faced the most imposing army in the world at the time in the open field.
One more thing: please take your name to the Taliban, the Cubans and the North Koreans and see how they and the other fascists like you do with the concept.
Happy New Year!

It's difficult to debate the merits of a cause that has recently KILLED 3000 of your fellow country men or to compare the mfs to George Washington. People who see merit in the cause of the terrorist can and should go straight to hell. Just one man's opinion.

Mitch--s/he did not start a reasoned argument, but rather posted as a disrupter. Charges (idiotic ones at that) with no support. S/he joined to harass not to enter with cogent points. There is a difference.

This liberal loser doesn't care about exercising his right to free speech. What he wants to do is exercise his right to urinate, but insists on choosing Jim's living room to do so.

Have we become just a bunch of bullies, a person cannot have an opinion whether we agree or not?I despise someone who tries to equate the founding fathers to bin Laden and terrorism. And his opinion has been thoroughly refuted by posters in this thread.

This response is to many of the posters that I find on Free Republic lately. Have we become just a bunch of bullies, a person cannot have an opinion whether we agree or not? If someone posts something that you disagree with instead of arguing your point intellegently, you make fun of them and paste their joining date. I am tired of that, I have noticed a distinct change in the character of us freepers and I dont like it. Please let's grow up and debate and learn and hopefully make a difference. Mitch Rushton
This post was not news, it was not commentary, it was not well written, it had no point or thought to it. It was a thread posted with no purpose or thought. This is not a training school. When you chose to post a thread it should have some sense. Also, if it can be added as a post to an existing thread then do that.

Until you can show me newspaper articles of American Colonists drafting a suicide wagon of exploding pitch bombs and crashing it and themselves into an open air market in Birmingham, your revisionist sympathy demonstrates a terrorist activity on a grander scale than those that you accuse.

My point has nothing to do with Bin Laden or anyone else. My point is that what is considered patriotism by us was the same as if one of the United States decided to break away from the rest. Would it still be patriotic if Texans decided they wanted to be their own country? Well, I guess that makes sense but I'll be damned if I'm going to waste a day off trying to decipher crap like this.

The founding fathers of the United States were considered terrorists by the legal government of the coloniesYou don't specify in your post exactly where you got this information. Perhaps you meant to, but accidently posted before you could? That might explain your lack of punctuation.
I would be interested in reading your documentation. Could you post your source?

There certainly is a lot of hate here for anyone who does have the exact same views.

There certainly is a lot of hate here for anyone who does have the exact same views. Don't flatter yourself, pinhead. FR has a tremendous range of views. We just don't like Moron Equivalents spouting moral equivalence, as that spits on the graves of the victims of 9/11 and defiles our nation. Follow the advice of your hero Bill Clinton and put some ice on it...

Source you reference. You can't just say something that inflammatory without backup. Where is your source?
To: Ferndina
Please let's grow up and debate and learn and hopefully make a difference. Debate without the requisite presentation of a burden of proof is nothing more than mere insult. The only inherent refutation to insults is insults. Anything more is not deserving and is simply answering the invitation for a public lynching.

The founding fathers of the United States were considered terrorists by the legal government of the colonies.Absolutely. And the colonial Americans were known for going to Britain and killing innocent Brits by the thousands. Uh, that would be NOT! Idiot, how stupid can you....no, don't tell me.

I don't hate you.
I would like some proof supporting your statement, unless this is merely your opinion. It was not posted under opinion, so I have to believe you have some sort of documentation to support it.
To: freespeechplease
I apologize if I have hurt anyone's feelings

Views, viewpoints, positions, call them what you will, this board does give an opportunity to express one's opinion, and bring relevant articles to the attention of the members.
A comment such as yours can be considered inflammatory in that it does lead one to surmise you are comparing the Founding Fathers of our nation to an evil, evil person whose goal is to kill by veiled and surreptitiuos methods for his own personal reasons... quite contrary to the Founding Fathers of America
There is not hate for those with opposing viewpoints, just asking for your documentation, reasoning, and something more than an inkling of your political viewpoint, as this is a conservative reader board.

You have not hurt my feelings.
Could you please supply your source for this information? If it came from a book, you could post the ISBN number.
To: Ferndina
Have we become just a bunch of bullies, a person cannot have an opinion whether we agree or not? The proper category for such posts is "Your Opinion/Questions" so that people who are not interested in uncited opinions can filter them out.
Or is it too much to ask that people follow the rules?
To: freespeechplease
Yes, just as it was in 1861 when Texas and ten other noble states opted for freedom only to be crushed by the likes of Sherman. Of course, that was a while back, long before ritual exercises in constructing a phony moral equivalencty to shroud every anti-Americanism was the fashion created by the Americong.
