Then let's have tort reform when it comes to measures to protect private property when lives are involved. Like, you can't sue someone for reasonable measures protecting the lives of people on his airplanes. If you don't want to fly with someone who cuffs unruly passengers, buy yourself a Learjet or charter one.

I am surprised I haven't read anything on FR on this point from our Libertarian cadre (I think they are too busy worrying about the War on Drugs): protecting airplanes is, for the airplanes' owners, a private property issue. Businesses have both a right and a duty to protect their assets and their customers while utilizing those assets. Protecting airplanes is, for the GOVERNMENT, is covered by both of the two legitimate roles of government as defined by Jefferson: protect the citizenry from foreign attack, and mediate disputes among citizens.

No way. The airlines solicit people's buisness, and then arbitrarily decide to cuff someone and divert them from their promised (and paid for) destination? I'd sue them into oblivian for contract violation and false imprisonment.
