Interesting timing on this post. I've had the funeral dirge from "The Godfather Part II" stuck on repeat in my head for 3 days now. Haven't seen the movie recently, haven't been thinking any dire thoughts or about Sicilians. But there it is.

There are many songs from the mid-1970s that stick in my head even though I haven't heard them on the radio in decades. The mid-1970s must have been a very sticky era:

"The Night Chicago Died"
"Billy, Don't Be A Hero"

And who can forget the song "Convoy" ("Breaker 1-9, this here's the duck"). The lyrics to that song will be ingrained in my head forever. There, I think I've done enough damage on this thread already. Got a copy on you Big Ben, this here's the Duck, bye-bye.

Here is the words to Mr. Garrison's "Merry F**king Christmas"

I heard there is no Christmas
In the silly Middle East
No trees, no snow, no Santa Claus
They have different religious beliefs

They believe in Muhammad
And not in our holiday
And so every December
I go to the Middle East and say...

"Hey there Mr. Muslim
Merry f**king Christmas
Put down that book the Koran
And hear some holiday wishes.

In case you haven't noticed
It's Jesus's birthday.
So get off your heathen Muslim ass
and f**king celebrate.

There is no holiday season in India I've heard
They don't hang up their stockings
And that is just absurd!

They've never read a Christmas story.
They don't know what Rudolph is about
And that is why in December
I'll go to India and shout...

Hey there Mr. Hinduist
Merry f**king Christmas
Drink eggnog and eat some beef
And pass it to the missus.

In case you haven't noticed
It's Jesus's birthday
So get off your heathen Hindu ass
and f**king celebrate!

Now I heard that in Japan
Everyone just lives in sin
They pray to several gods
And put needles in their skin.

On December 25th
All they do is eat a cake
And that is why I go to Japan
And walk around and say...

Hey there Mr. Shintoist
Merry f**king Christmas
God is going to kick your ass
You infidelic pagan scum.

In case you haven't noticed
There's festive things to do
So lets all rejoice for Jesus
And Merry f**king Christmas to you.

On Christmas day I travel `round the world and say,
Taoists, Krishnas, Buddhists, and all you atheists too,
Merry F**king Christmas, To You!

(Clapping)

Thank you Mr. hat

Wait, there's more. Some agony-producing fragments for those over 50.

"I found my thrill,
On Blueberry Hill . . ."

"The wind in the willow made,
A sweet melody . . ."

"Strangers in the night,
Exchanging glances.
Lovers at first sight,
What were the chances . . ."

Great tune, Billybob! In the heyday of Napster, one could find 20 different versions of Piero Umliani's "Ma Nah Ma Nah" out there - anything from German to metal versions.

And, you haven't lived until you've heard Tiny Tim's rendition of "Stairway to Heaven" with the Brave Combo...

Merry Christmas, fellow Freepers. In honor of the occasion, I shall not make available any of the forementioned...

The tune that my family absolutely HATES to hear me hum or try to sing:

Green acres is the place to be
Farm living is the life for me
Land spreading out,
so far and wide
Keep Manhattan,
just give me that countryside.

New York
is where I'd rather stay
I get allergic smelling hay
I just adore a penthouse view
Darling, I love you,
but give me Park Avenue.

The Chores !

The Stores!

Fresh air!

Times Square!

You are my wife. Goodbye city life.
Green Acres, we are there!

Welcome to the company of the d**med (VBG). I suggest a two-pronged strategy to get rid of the song you son has inflicted on you:

1. Earplugs.

2. Treat yourself to a makeover and massage, get yourself a little black dress, then get your husband to take you to the best jazz club in the city. Good music can help overwrite bad in your memory.

Or hum Michelle for just a little while. Michelle will replace anything.

Elton John's "Song for Guy". A more annoying, repetative, pretentious load of rubbish, you couldn't hope to find.

Queen’s "We Will Rock You,"

This song was gratuitously inserted in the recent movie, "A Knight's Tale" and ruined it.
