[history]
A federal judge Tuesday overturned the death sentence of Mumia Abu-Jamal, convicted 20 years ago of killing a Philadelphia police officer.
But U.S. District Judge William Yohn refused Abu-Jamal's request for a new trial, upholding his 1982 conviction of first degree murder.

Justice delayed is justice denied. If people don't think that some scumbag lawyers will be arguing the same sh!t for convicted terrorists who are not executed post haste ten to twenty years from now, then they've been spending entirely too much time with Nurse Ratchet and the Chief.

Kill this bastard, now!
That filty garbage has already consumed too much time, money and food..
He was "brave" enough to shoot the downed officer in the face - and then brag about it... He should be brave enough to die.
Kill this bastard -- Kill him twice if possible.

Murder a baby that is fine. Put someone to death that murdered another person. Wo! Hold on here! There is a problem!
I don't get it and I think I never will. Liberalism is too hypocritical for me.

This appeal has been going on for decades now and will continue on....
And when you see the power and the names behind this, you will see why.

This guy, the judge should be held accountable. What the hell is he doing as a judge anyway? PAthetic, and there are others out there just as bad. Get rid of this guy.

Another activist leftist judge He was a Bush41 appointee, FWIW.
The ruling is that the sentencing process wasn't appropriate. The state has 180 days to conduct a proper sentencing process, or the sentence is reduced to life. It is still theoretically possible for this to result in a death penalty sentence. Can anyone comment on whether it is practically possible for a new sentencing process to occur that fast?

Where would I go if it were not for FR? IMUS is on vacation and I have CNN on for background noise. Just heard them say, "Coming up, Paula Zahn will talk to Ed Asner about the Abu Jamal case." Guess I'll see what's on C-SPAN

I agree. And I'm wondering what all might be hidden in that Judge's closet that some entrperisin investigative reporter might uncover.
This is another reason why foreign terrorists should be tried by a miliary tribunals. Just look at the OJ cases (the last one fizzled because OJ was warned ahead of time by a juror); the Amy Grossberg-Brian Peterson trial; the terrorists spared the death sentence by New York juries; the pardons granted to terrorists by Clinton. (See Barbara Olson's book, FINAL DAYS)

I read the final days. Good read but I don't think DemocRATS will read it. they're in denial as they always have been in regards the Klintoons. The more I hear of Democratic policies and the incredible bunch of dumbasses they back the more I am suprised this country has survived at all. This guy is a judge? He shouldn't be a street sweeper. Maybe qualified to ask if you want fries with that order.
