Clinton: To Stop Terrorism, West Must Share its Wealth

Last month Bill Clinton told a Georgetown University audience that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were the fault of U.S. slavery and mistreatment of the American Indian.

Now he's changed his tune, downplaying the slavery angle in favor of a new justification for Osama bin Laden's 9/11 kamikaze hit squad: The West won't share its wealth with an impoverished third world.

On Thursday Clinton appeared before the Richard Dimbley lecture series in Warwick, Great Britain to give an address he titled "The Struggle for the Soul of the 21st Century."

Some highlights:
"It was exactly a year ago today, near the end of my tenure as President, on my final trip overseas, that I went to Warwick University with Tony Blair to deliver a speech.....
"On that day a year ago, I said 'we have seen how abject poverty accelerates conflict, how it creates recruits for terrorists and those who incite ethnic and religious hatred, how it fuels a violent rejection of the economic and social order on which our future depends'.

"The world has now witnessed a tragic, graphic illustration of that new reality, one that, as Mr Dimbleby implied, has made a lot of people rethink their rosy projections for this new century.....

"We in the wealthy countries have to spread the benefits of the 21st century world and reduce the risks so we can make more partners and fewer terrorists in the future."

Clinton continued:
"September 11th was the dark side of this new age of global interdependence.... If you don't want to live with barbed wire around your children and grandchildren for the next hundred years, then it's not enough to defeat the terrorist.

"We have to make a world where there are far fewer terrorists, where there are fewer potential terrorists and more partners. And that responsibility falls primarily upon the wealthy nations, to spread the benefits and shrink the burdens."

A transcript of Clinton's remarks was made available by the BBC.

The clintons, #1 domestic terrorists.

They have devoted their lives to the destruction of the United States. All for greed.

Both Clintons are avowed communists. They are not stupid or gullible as most of the replies on this thread seem to infer.

The Clintons are like Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, determined to hobble America, and destroy our republic.

The sad thing is, most of America is still asleep at the wheel on this issue. They laugh it off by saying “There he goes again... heh... heh.”

Keep laughing at him and his partner-in-crime. They could care less. They're on a mission.

There are so many uneducated voters out there that Hillary Clinton could be on the democratic ticket in 2004.

With the help of Kennedy, Daschle, Gephardt and Leahy, she might even be elevated as the only viable contender to George W. Bush.

When you take abject poverty and add communism or socialism you get Africa.

When you take abject poverty, add wealth in the form of oil, and add communism or socialism, you get terrorism and OBL.

Without $300 million, OBL is just another wacko on a camel.

I once saw Clinton giving a speech overseas in which he apologized to the world for our national deficit becuase it prevented the U.S. from doing more to help the world.

Clinton: To Stop Terrorism, West Must Share its Wealth

It will only work if the wealth is delivered in the form of explosives.

What we gotta remember is that this guy never says ANYTHING without a purpose or agenda behind it. If you'll notice, a lot of the things he's been saying lately are the exact type of things that the U.N. has been saying for years. It's the kind of stuff that the U.N. types love to hear. I may be wrong, but I think Clinton's hunting for Kofi Annan's job. I've thought so for a while.

Geez, if bubba is right, all of these bloviating talking heads were wrong about 9-11 being some kind of jihad, or various other incarnations of cultural or religious warfare. To hear Klink tell it, it was all just a particularly brutal form of extortion, a blood-soaked version of a strong-arm robbery. And we can make it stop if we just give them our money? I'm not big on appeasement in the face of the barbarian. Neville Chamberlain taught us what that gets you (millions more dead).

Gosh, this sounds awfully familiar. Where have I heard this before? Let's see........from the haves to the have nots.....oh yes, now I remember!

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Anyone out there still doubt Clinton is a communist?

Bill and Hillary can start by donating their own money for their library and to spread their wealth in third world countries. Why doesn't he shut up?

I think this is a great idea and I think that Bill should lead by example. I propose that whenever he speaks abroad, he should donate his fee BACK to the country that is hosting him. Doesn't that make sense?
