Actually, Big Country is one of those groups that's been churning out albums for a rather sizable cult following for years, even though the rest of the world had long forgotten they existed. Rather like Marillion.

Shame though. "In a Big Country" was just so ... EIGHTIES.

Pure 80s. But I enjoyed that era of pop music. And listening to "In a Big Country" can still lift my mood and make it soar.

In 1990 when Stuart was playing with Simon Townshend's Band ( brother of Peter Townshend) in Detroit, they stayed at my friend's estate because they didn't have enough money for a hotel. I knew Simon.

My friend had a 13 year old son in Jr High who told everyone in school that a rock band was staying at his house, and no one believed them, so my soccer mom friend drove the band to the Jr High to pick the kid up from school. I thought it was a really cool thing for them to do.

And that is my personal trivia of Stuart Adamson.
