December 10, 2001 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton yesterday backed President Bush's plan for military tribunals to try top terrorists and said it's "absolutely appropriate" - at a time when some of her fellow Democrats are denouncing the idea.

"I support the idea of military tribunals. I think it is absolutely appropriate. We are facing extraordinary times which demand extraordinary measures. We do have historic precedent," she said.

She knows which way the wind is blowing after Ashcroft blew away Kennedy and Co at the hearings the other day.

Beware that devious Clinton mind process. If she supports them, what else can she possibly want?

Actually, deep in their hearts(?), I doubt that the either of the Clintons would find much of anything to dislike about secret military tribunals if they were to be used against, say, committed Christians, homeschoolers, evil gun owners, or any other members of the VRWC.

The basic concept of secret tribunals probably just tickles Empress Hillary no end. Perhaps later she can find a "more appropriate" use for them.

She may just be having fantasies about what she would do with such a tribunal -- probably goes along with her fantasies of being President. And thanks about the screen name.

"I support the idea of military tribunals. I think it is absolutely appropriate. We are facing extraordinary times which demand extraordinary measures. We do have historic precedent,"

Hillary is a long-term thinker, folks. She tried to join the Marines back in the 1970s, knowing full it would help debunk future charges of being anti-military.

She knows perfectly well what she's doing. In this case, she knows full well these "military tribunals" will serve her well should she becomes president.

Funny thing is, when she uses these "military tribunals" for her own purposes, most conservatives won't be able to say a d@mn thing (with any credibility) since most are gung-ho on the idea now.

There are far too many myopic individuals on the Right. Those of us asking to "slow down" on the recent government power grab are not doing so to weaken Bush. We're doing so because we know Bush isn't going to be in there forever.

Rarely is something abused by its inventor. It's the people that come after we have to worry about.

She definitely has looked at the polls and fashioned her answers accordingly. It's amazing how evil incarnate can change like an iguana. I also thought I was witnessing the coming out of Hillary! 2004 for President. Russert also seemed to be afraid of her. Did anyone notice how he couldnt look her in the eye? How about the question of "fair" regarding a Republican ad?

I'm glad I had the rest of the day to decorate our tree to take my mind off of the performance.

Yep, I fully expect that Hillary will manage to come up with creative ways to use the new FBI/CIA/Justice Department powers as well as finding uses for military tribunals when she grabs the presidency.

Do I think Americans are stupid enough to elect Hillary? Unfortunately, I do. I didn't think NY'ers were stupid enough to elect Hillary to the Senate - suprise - I fully expect to be suprised again.

I am terrified of the additional damage this woman can/will do to the Constitution. It's already been weakened by the war on poverty, the war on drugs, and now the war on terrorism, etc. I'm sure Hillary is drooling over the chance to finish off the Constitution and move us to a more Socialist country.

Wasn't she too old to sign up at the time and don't you think she knew it beforehand? She is not to be trusted. Ever.

"...con-job to improve on her low opinion ratings."

...and to attempt to prove she's got a pair, so to proffer herself as CIC material. Though anyone
who'd support this seeming drag-queen is either a communist or a fool. There is no third possibility.
