They already choose not to date. They were not forced or compelled into not dating. They chose not to date.

We made the no-dating rule until age 16, and we made it stick without much fuss at all...Right of first refusal wasn't any problem, either...no threats or punishment were needed...

Who are these jaded kids that would fuss about such a thing? I believe that parents should protect girls and boys from sexual pressure at too early an age, protect their innocence and potential for joy--lay down the rules in a loving home, and they'll be accepted...

Sometimes I get the idea that any parent who places reasonable restrictions or limits on a child is viewed as some kind of monster by the liberal leftists who advance a sexually exploitive and anti-life agenda...that's a distorted view.

There've been comments that lead me to think that leftists imagine beefy, liquored-up dads standing by the door with shotguns, threatening terrified little girls who only want to explore their personhood.

RIDICULOUS! Most young girls (under 16) would rather be protected, treated like the little princesses they are. I have never met an exception. I think I can safely say that any young girl who aspires to be sexually experienced at an early age has been neglected, emotionally, familialy, and spiritually.
