It's that time of year again, when I send out the latest updates for the year. And what a year indeed! First, I must get in my "told you so!" Yep, Bush is flushing 10 years of prosperity down the toilet faster than you can say Hail Mary! Fortunately the devastation has not yet hit us too hard in Colorado. Matthew is in kindergarten, Sean in second grade. Marsha is working at home with an Internet based order entry job. My work is going well, the economy has not yet hit us. We went to Montana to see Aunt Lisa this summer. We put a TV and VCR in the Caravan and it actually went fairly well. So travel is now becoming more possible. Lucy has chewed up everything and is now bigger than Matthew. She is a Golden Retriever and we hope to breed her next year. We want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and that next year will bring better times for us all.
OK, so I lost a lot of investment money this year, but Mr. Bush got us a 600.00 rebate check! I would have rather seen it go to a prescription drug benefit for the elderly. Yes, the Grinch stole our prosperity and gave it to the rich. I would bet my salvation that Jesus does not approve of the Republican economic policy, especially right around the holidays. Of course, there is the convenient excuse of September 11th. As we return to the memories of the 80's, let us consider the 241 unarmed marines who died in Lebanon. The cargo planes full of weapons sent to Iran in exchange for hostages, to Bin Laden to fight the Soviets and to Saddam to fight Iran. I believe Dubya is doing a good job of cleaning up the mess his Dad left, but the economy was tanking long before 9-11. Don't insult this country by having a draft dodger use terrorism created from his dad's mistakes to give money to the rich. It turns out the anthrax was domestic with the culprit (like Oklahoma City) having Right wing Politics. The FBI reached that conclusion as only Liberals have been targeted. Surely Mr. Ashcroft will solve the case. Let's hope the war on terrorism will focus on the American Taliban next, our own right wing.
I have a holiday recipe for fundamentalist soufflé - mix a heavy dose of fundamentalism with government, with easy access to guns. Mix in some religion based education with low tax rates and school vouchers. Skin away all investment in infrastructure, diverting all resources to the military. Strip away social programs with a clever, then beat the women until they are tender. Remove all intellectuals and then sprinkle with school prayer. Bake for 10 years and then simmer until buildings start blowing up. Any intolerant religion works nicely!

I would bet my salvation that Jesus does not approve of the Republican economic policy, especially right around the holidays You know that your cousin would have an exploding embolism if someone like Jerry Falwell ever said anything like this about Democrats.

Ummm....Draft Dodger? Bush served in the military, Gore served in the military....only draft dodger I can think of is Clinton....Yeah...even gore was in the military. No man in my family was drafted. They all enlisted and all but one during war-time. So does this guy think they are all draft-dodgers, too?
To: Rash32
Ask the cousin to join a 12 step program for
.
To help drive home the issuance of blame to Bush what is coincidence, find out what terrible things happened on the day of your cousin's birth... and then blame those on him.
In short, make anything you say "tongue-in-cheek" and utterly mockingly ridiculous. ;)
Or make your reply as excruciating as possible. Make it the wolfsbane that sears in the eternal soul of liberals everywhere. Ask him where he gets his facts.

OK Freepers....My cousin reponded to some of your comments concerning his Christmas letter to the family. He emailed them to me .....I do not know if he could not figure out the login process for the Free Republic or what, but I copied his responces below. I'll ask him to establish his own login account so everyone can respond to him more directly. Thanks for all your contributions.

Now this is fun! I love reading Republican hypocrisy! I will definitely check out the "Free Republic". Right wing web sights are funnier than National Lampoon. Someone doesn't like mixing religion and politics!
A few quick replies:
I can assure you that it is indeed completely original (not Copied off the internet). However, I will post the Taliban Souffle.
The $600.00 went too the numerous charities- Habitat for humanity, children with cancer, Denver Parish, Care.
Please note that Bush did not serve in Vietnam, the Texas guard was a club for chicken rich kids. He is a draft Dodger! At least Clinton didn't want other people to go in his place. Nor was he AWOL! Most countries shoot deserters.
Dubya did not "earn" his money; he was given an interest in the Rangers to bring in tax money. He got rich off the taxpayers, like Niel Bush.
The "Twain" quote was great, I hope these flat-earth folk read his works.
Some of the responses were very violent. Could be a few closet Tim McVieghs in thar!
Please note the Clinton prosperity actually began with Dubya's dad raising taxes! He proved again that Roosevelt was right; the wealthy should pay some taxes.
Is it moral to support the tobacco industry? Why is corporate welfare OK?
Please guys, lighten up a little! The American Taliban takes itself just a little too serious. Hey, us liberals may not carry guns, but I love this country too. For the record, I believe Dubya handled the fundamentalists superbly. Just don't want too see us become a fundamentalist police state like we just defeated. It starts with taking away a woman's right to choose, government sponsored religion, then school prayer, slandering liberals, then vouchers, then military tribunals... can't see it? That's what they are hoping...

Norm,
I can not believe that you would continue to spout your typical diatribe in a Christmas letter!
You are so full of sh#$ that I had to share your pros with the internet world......here are some responces.

I have Democrat cousins in New England. I love them all and when I see them ( which is not often enough) I try to stay away from conversation that will upset or bedevil them. Life is too short to try to convert liberal Democrats. I moved away when I finished school. I found out there was more than the Democratic Party. The adults told all the children from a very early age that the Republicans are for the wealthy and are not for the working man. The minority voter is told the same thing on the campaign trail by Democrat candidates as they speak to minority church congregations. The lie that just keeps on giving.
The millionaires club in the senate is made up of many Democrats...............

Let's dissect this 'un, shall we, class? (I just love doing this.)
It's that time of year again, when I send out the latest updates for the year.
You do strike me as the type who sends out mass-printed form letters for the holidays. Ever hear of handwriting on cards? (You'd have the time to do so if you'd write "Happy Holidays" instead of a diatribe.)
And what a year indeed! First, I must get in my "told you so!" Yep, Bush is flushing 10 years of prosperity down the toilet faster than you can say Hail Mary!
(Hey, Rash, ask Cuz to explain trickle-down economics to you. Betcha he cain't.)
Fortunately the devastation has not yet hit us too hard in Colorado. Matthew is in kindergarten, Sean in second grade.
Hope your second-grader learns about run-on sentences in that there public school. (I shall kindly overlook all the omitted hyphens and your obvious difficulty with apostrophes.)
Marsha is working at home with an Internet based order entry job. My work is going well, the economy has not yet hit us. We went to Montana to see Aunt Lisa this summer. We put a TV and VCR in the Caravan and it actually went fairly well. So travel is now becoming more possible.
A Caravan? That gas-guzzler? For shame. And since I've been on the earth (32 years now), travel has always been "possible." Just not always pleasant.
Lucy has chewed up everything and is now bigger than Matthew. She is a Golden Retriever and we hope to breed her next year.
Good idea . . . breed your untrainable dog and have lots of untrainable puppies.
We want to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and that next year will bring better times for us all. OK, so I lost a lot of investment money this year, but Mr. Bush got us a 600.00 rebate check! I would have rather seen it go to a prescription drug benefit for the elderly.
Then give it to an old person!
Yes, the Grinch stole our prosperity and gave it to the rich.
So giving you back your money is giving to the rich?
I would bet my salvation that Jesus does not approve of the Republican economic policy, especially right around the holidays.
Now you're sliding into abject stupidity. Check out the scene in the temple where he routed the money-lenders. He was definitely a lower-my-taxes Dude.
Of course, there is the convenient excuse of September 11th. As we return to the memories of the 80's, let us consider the 241 unarmed marines who died in Lebanon. It was indeed - namely, last year when your boy Billy was still in office.
Don't insult this country by having a draft dodger use terrorism created from his dad's mistakes to give money to the rich.
Draft dodger? Don't make me chuckle, you chucklehead. Try that one on Bill Clinton for size. (For the record, Dubya is a fighter pilot. Bill is banned from cockpits by stewardess-union decree.)
It turns out the anthrax was domestic with the culprit (like Oklahoma City) having Right wing Politics. The FBI reached that conclusion as only Liberals have been targeted.
No, not exactly. American Media isn't a bastion of mushy-headed one-worlders.
Surely Mr. Ashcroft will solve the case. Let's hope the wair on terrorism will focus on the American Taliban next, our own right wing.
Wair? Whait is it gooid foir?

"Clever" is an adjective, not a noun. (Sheesh. Your second-grader coulda gotten that right.) As for removal of intellectuals, I see your cutesy recipe and raise you my Mensa membership, you mental midget.
To: Rash32
This is gotta be a fake, nobody this dumb could lick stamps for a letter. ;-)
To: Rash32
You could try to tell him this is Bill Clinton's depression -- that it went south in March, way before the June vote on the rebate.
You could ask him why he considers a man who served his country and did NOT go overseas and plan and participate in rallys against this country is a draft dodger?
But if I were you, I'd just tell him that if he really believes that a man with two kids, a Caravan, a car TV and VCR, with investments and a Golden retreiver is NOT rich, it's no wonder he got almost 100 percent of his "facts" in his Christmas letter wrong.

Good Lord! This is a Christmas letter? What a JOKE! Many of us have strong political feelings, but putting that in a Christmas letter is sooooo tacky! Please have your cousin enrolled in an etiquette class.
To: Rash32
Dear cousin Bonehead,
If in fact you were serious in your letter sent in your Christamas card, please do not send anymore updates. If you were joking, please do not joke anymore.I found your humor to be tasteless and without merit.May the Holiday season bring upon you and your family the very best our Good Lord can offer.
Best always,
your Cousin with Class

Was he adopted? He doesn't sound like he shares any DNA with you.

"Bush is flushing 10 years of prosperity down the toilet faster than you can say Hail Mary!" Prosperity that was 'falser' than Bill Clinton's lies, and less satisfying than an intern and a good cigar.
Of course, being 'right' is an abstract concept with some of the Colorado ROCKIES!!!
To: Rash32
Flush the letter and tell your cousin to go straight to hell. Merry Christmas.
To: Rash32
"Any intolerant religion works nicely!" What is/was his 'church' again?
