"How predictable. Just another reason why he should never have been made the nation's chief law enforcement officer." This is exactly why he should be this nations chief law enforcement officer! He is enforcing the second ammendment to the U.S. Constituion.

The gun-grabbers would like nothing more than to compile a list of all gun-owners, it's there "holy grail". Once again, they demonstrate their willingness to exploit any tragedy to achieve their goals. This has nothing to do with 9-11, it has everything to do with establishing a national system of gun owner registration. If any terrorist showed up on these checks, their next move would be to call for a permanent record of purchases.

The anti-gun-nuts still believe the 9/11 attackers used firearms. Facts cannot dissuade them. After all, the violent revolutions they plan depend on heavy weapons - certainly not the boxcutters used by the Saudis.

Anti-terrorism has it limits. You didn't expect it would interfere with the fancied "rights" of gun nuts, did you? With this White House? This attorney general? Get serious. The "rights" referred to here are no less real than those of the first amendment that protects this ink nut.

Nah--it is that one of the requirements for getting a degree in journalism is that one be a communist. ALL news media types from the smallest weeklies to the biggest dailies (and of course, all the broadcast media) seem to have only one world view--anti-gun, anti-patriotism, pro-abortion, etc.

These leftists simply refuse to get it. Oh well, it's not my job to explain it to themin order to make themselves more successful in their efforts to deconstruct the USCON.

Just imagine an attorney general bound by the constitution and the laws of the land. An attorney general who won't think it's okay to burn dozens and dozens of citizens to death in order to 'save them'. Who wont surround a home with uniformed men with assault rifles to repatriate a little six year old to a communist ruler who is our sworn enemy.

And the terrorists on September 11, 2001 used
how many guns?
Facts and gun-grabbers are like oil and water. You can mix them but they seperate as incompatible.

Excuse me, but wasn't the Pro terrorist hearing called because Leahy, Kennedy and Schumer were trying to spring the Mid-Eastern type detainees from the Wicked Government.
With Leahy protecting the Terrorists,Kennedy protecting the leftists, and Schumer protecting the Criminals from honest citizens ,who are trying to protect themselves, it's a wonder anything gets done.
This from a crowd, who allowed the "Government " to obtain 600 FBI files( which is against the Law),and never gave them back.

I could not have said it better. It would be nice if the Republicans had the guts to state this fact in public.

Can you spell "ignorant screed???" Apparently the Houston paper hires from the same group of moronic droolers as does the Milwaukee Journal...which recently ran an article quoting the Southern Poverty Law Center as "authorities" on right-wing-extremists and naming the Constitution Party (Howard Phillips' Wisconsin affiliate) as well as the John Birch Society as right-wing "extemists."
As for me, looks like the time has come to put another 200 rounds through the H&K. Preparation is EVERYTHING.

"You're looking for new tools in every direction..."
That's right Charles, I'm in the market for an FN/FN clone in 7.62/.308.
Sorry Charlie, I'm lockin' and loadin' for the Second Ammendment.

The Houston Chronicle is trash.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
The author doesn't appear to have read the Constitution. He'd be in a better position to criticise Ashcroft if he had, and if he weren't trying to push his own anti-liberty agenda.
For us outsiders, it's surprising to see this kind of thing coming from Texas, but this guy probably spends most of his time in Washington.
